Well at least he's still eating healthy. If I were his age I'd have said f*** it...deep dish pizza for breakfast, Porterhouse for dinner everyday.

Adams is a petty jackass but you look at how he dresses and you sense a bit class humility, which I respect. I don't know if old school oil and gas guys are low key in general but he seems that way. Maybe Houston being less crowded (for now) and more hospitable compared to where most uber-rich people live, it's a little less daunting to go out and do stuff yourself.

I guess you could call it humility but it's kind of also a facet of being a super cheap old b*stard. There was an old Houston Press article in the 90's that described interviewing him, obviously when his personal fortune is in the hundreds of millions of dollars at this point, and he interrupted the interview to negotiate the sale of a beat-up old pick up from one of his ranches and positively beaming because he figured out a way to replace the doors on the pickup with a set of doors from a salvage yard and make an extra $150 off of it or something.

 

Am I the only one who didn't know there was a Costco in Houston? I thought Sam's was our Costco.
