This is one of the most common misconceptions nonbelievers use against Christians.

This is so dumb. If that's the best one, then the others must be horrendous.

Thank you for keeping it civil! As I stated earlier, I'm not going to make this into a potluck and deviate from my initial intrigue which was....

First, I'm not here to argue, slander or convince anyone of anything! We all have freedom of will, which includes every faction of our lives, and I have learned to respect other peoples OPINIONS! I have an OPINION as well, an opinion that I think is based on the Bible. It starts by believing that the WHOLE Bible is/was inspired by God!
If this scripture is true (I think it is) then all of the scriptures in the New Testament regarding sex, homosexuality, and marriage are also true! As I stated before I'm not here to convince anyone, I think the majority of the people who post in the D&D know which scriptures I would reference if I was inclined to do so, BUT if someone wishes to view them I am more than willing to provide them.

I'm not here to hate on anyone! If you disagree with me, that's fine! If I'm wrong, so be it, everyone can choose to believe what they want to believe, and I believe that the scriptures regarding sex, homosexuality, marriage are there for a reason.
    .......
    .......
    .......

These are not things that non-believers ever want to hear.

Please explain how this is a misconception... It is honestly something I am curious about. I don't understand how people can pick and choose.

That atheists are as dogmatic in their beliefs as religious folks, I think.

Oops. I confused this thread with the other religion one. Herpderp.

On a related note, and since unverifiable anecdotal events are being used to establish axioms in this thread:

I once asked my religion professor (who was Prez, I think, of the Catholic society at my college), what would he do if I had some sort of amazing, perfect mathematical equation that could without a doubt prove there was no God. (He said that would never happened, and I said yeah I know, but what if it could? And what if it did? Just being hypothetical.) He said he would need a few days to think about it.

Now, this guy was very smart. Very bright. A peaceful, respectful, kind man. A family man. A good teacher who tried his best to be fair to everyone no matter their religious beliefs. A good guy all-around.

So a couple days later we of course had our class again. He had obviously been thinking about it because he led off the class talking about it. Basically, he said he would run wild and harm and maybe even kill people and do all sorts of bad things because, well, why not?

I really did not expect that answer. I was surprised, disappointed, and kinda scared.

So the only logical takeaway from that: religious people will murder you if you can make them think they're wrong; so it's best to just STFU and let them be religious peaceful people and holding down the psychopathic murderer that lives within.

I think this right here sums up a big issue that a lot of people (rightfully so) have with religion.
