I agree. He teaches a jump hook and the drop step.

I have to say that i really like our big man situation going forward with Thabeet, Patterson and Hill. All three will be better next season with the proper coaching in the offseason, at least. I hope that they are all still with the team next season. Especially if Thabeet can show the same kind of improvement that Hill showed from last season, considering that they both are kinda in the same boat not having much playing time thus far. Patterson is going to be a beast, regardless.

I agree, you have three post players with 3 different brands of NBA big man potential. One of the three is already a quality big in Patterson. If two out of the three pan out, then it will great.

Patterson - Prototypical PF. Great build at 6'8"/6'9" on a good day. Build for power, but also has nice offensive potential inside and out. Has a tendency to fall in love with the jumper, but when your shot is that good already, its hard not to. The great thing about Patterson too is, he still hasn't even figured out how to play basketball in the NBA. I mean that in a good way.

Jordan Hill - Neo Center/ PF. 6'10". Versatile skillset. Good shooter, but still doesn't shoot in rythm. When he shoots, he shoots like he's surprised he's open. Good jump hook but needs to work on counter moves. Also needs to become a bully in the paint. Jordan's work mainly needs to come from within. Basically he needs some fire under his "you know what." Im looking forward to seeing what is going to come of another offseason with the Rockets coaching/mentoring staff.

Hasheem Thabeet - 7'3" pure Center. Loved Thabeet at UConn and then went to the Grizzlies and looked like a different player. Basically he looked like he never played the game before. When he plays in the NBA he seems stiff. Moves very robotic and timid. He could just be a space eater in the middle and a shot blocker, but he gets in foul trouble real quick and can become a liability.

If the Rockets can get Thabeet to play like he did at UConn then there is no question that even THAT PLAYER would be at least a serviceable pure Center/shot blocker on this team for many many years. The Thabeet we saw in Memphis is alot worse then the UConn Thabeet.

-He's one of the few NBA players that actually got worse when they went to the NBA from a skillset standpoint. Do not confuse with production. Almost every player produces better in college because of the talent level.

I have no doubt in my mind he could be that. If he becomes even better than that, then the Rockets just got the steal of a lifetime in a trading deadline deal.
