d these are fighting words in my opinion, you cant talk tough and not fight. you know these guys are out there on the clutch bbs having a war of words and wit while sipping tea over a big ass gordita,,,this is grunt style, grind it out football game, have you ever played football man, seriously, i cant rememeber a game i played at oaks dads clubs, jr high, or high school, that did not have at least one fight, you need to take that rats attitude and heavens sake tough talk to your table tennis club memebers im sure they'll understand you fine.
I'm not sure how it started, but Hawaii stormed the field after UH's missed 4th down, and all the action was on that side of the field. Great game, great ending, great fight. Merry Christmas.
I don't care who started the fight. I'm just saying you can't pick up a helmet and use it to fight with. If you want to punch and wrestle, that's one thing.
lmao - this quote is sig worthy!! for the record, I do own Culture Club's greatest hits
Wow, you're pretty macho, dude. An all-out brawl at the end of a game is a little different than the random skirmishes that break out during the course of a game. It was ridiculous and ugly, and shouldn't have happened.
We switched to the game after the Rocket game. UH didn't convert on 4th down and Hawaii was running through the defense like a knife through butter getting set up for a chipshot FG. My Dad looked at me and said, "are you willing to concede that this game is over?" I said yes and my sisters, brothers and I started packing up to leave for the night..... Got home to see Sportscenter (to catch Rocket highlights) and looked at the ticker to see the UH score. 54-48......3 OT's.
Yeah...turn the other cheek while your teammates are getting a beatdown. Stupid. Good game. I picked Hawaii to win, but Houston played pretty well...on offense. They had plenty of chances to win regardless of the refs. Play some defense.
pics from the game.. (check out the UH athletics director on the left getting into the mix!!) and the tell tale pic.. hawaii player busted swinging a helmet.. not a Houston helmet that had been thrown at him, not in defense of a teammate..
Hawaii did the same thing to Cincinnati last year. http://www.enquirer.com/bearcats/2002/11/25/wwwucresponse.html
Question : Does Hawaii do a lot of mainland recruting? Do they have many native div. I - worthy players? Where do they do most of their recruiting?
They do a lot of recruiting in California. Plus, the notion of going to school in Hawai'i is very appealing to a lot of top recruits.
i recorded the fight and watched it over and over again (i have to admit i found it entertaining, and i wanted to see some UHouston players whip some ass) anyway, the whole helmet throwing started with the hawaii players. i think there were a couple of helmets thrown. I saw #73 on hawaii throw his helmet in the beginning at the UH players. i think it was Damien West who was hit in the arm. it was either him or some other UH player. because theres 2 times where you can see UH players using the helmets to hit back at the hawaiin players. one of course, was Damien West. the other is some UH guy on the ground hitting some hawaiin player repeatedly with the helmet.
Damn. I didn't get to see the game, but it's amusing to see a couple of mid-majors acting like the Hawaii Bowl is the national championship or something.
Here is Hawaii's 2003 commitment list: http://rivals100.rivals.com/commitlist.asp?Sport=1&Year=2003&School=136
Nice. Your post is real bush league pal. If you got into fights in every high school game, you must have gone to a classless, trashy high school with thugs for players and rejects for coaches. Football is supposed to be about having class and honor, not about being a macho thug that is proud about brawling every game. Regardless of the situation, both teams showed complete lack of class after the game. Period. If that gets me on your p***y list Stoke, no worries; you're already on my chicken**** list.
I see. I just couldn't imagine Hawaii high schools producing enough talent to field a team of that caliber, but that makes sense. I certainly wouldn't mind living in Hawaii for four years.
I remember hearing that alot of the o line from Hawaii gets picked up to the NFL alot because of their offensive passing. The O guys backpadel alot, and I guess they say that NFL scouts like that or some crap.
Yeah, I'm sure you know exactly how they feel. Try and take off the UH bias for a minute and understand my post. That idiotic move could have cost the University a whole hell of a lot. And for what? He could have tried to save his teammate without screwing over the whole program in the process. Did you see what West did? He swung his helmet at a guy standing at the edge of the pile. Even if he'd have connected with that guy it wouldn't have helped his teammate at all. If you honestly think you can justify those actions, I feel for you. If this hadn't of been UH, I wonder if you'd feel the same way. You see above too, tozai. Same goes for you 'Stoke', but I doubt you'd be able to understand it. Looks like you took too many shots to the head for anything to make a difference at this point. I probably understand more about football than you ever would. Hell, I probably have talked to and know more football coaches than you've ever seen. They have a role for guys like you; the big, brainless mass they stick in the game to clear a path, then ignore off the field as much as possible. And believe me, I - nor probably much of anyone else in this world - really care about your 'list'. But I'm sure you are proud of it.
That game was exactly what I expected, but I thought the Coogs would pull it out --- poor Coogs. I thought that was a horrible fight, a brawl should never be allowed to escalate to that level for that long.
