I looked at the overall, not the conference record. But yeah, they're nothing to write home about this year. The problem is that we've beaten the top 3-4 CUSA teams this year, and lost to the 3-4 worst ones. Totally bassackwards.
I can't see how TU is a lock but Memphis is a bubble team. Memphis definitely played better against KU than did TU. Bring on Southern Miss.
Thanks, Coogs. Memphis was the team that worried me most. Not that Marshall or Tulsa will be a cakewalk tomorrow...
The Coogs have Southern Miss next...then will face Tulsa, Marshall, UCF, or UTEP in the finals. I don't think the Coogs could have picked a better semis opponent. UAB would rolled and smoked em.
Utep should be in even if they lose. What happen to Stephon Jackson? Did he graduate? That guy was a scoring machine last yr.
Yup, he graduated last year as UTEP and CUSA's all-time leading scorer. I was worried how we were going to replace his scoring and thought that Randy Culpepper, who loved to jack shots from all over the place his first two seasons, was going to go shot crazy. However, he has matured a ton this year and the addition of Derrick Caracter and Jeremy Williams has made for a well balanced team. I hope you're right about us being in no matter what. For every 'expert' that says that, I hear another one saying that we have to win it all. Hopefully we take the tournament and don't have to sweat it out on Sunday...
I thought you were serious. I'm not surprised by anything I see suggested on Clutchfans anymore. And yes, Mario Elie might take a college job somewhere, since he won't get a head coaching job in the NBA. If Houston wanted to get someone with name recognition, they might consider Mario. In the past, Houston has gone for Drexler and Penders, so it looks like they like to pick coaches with some kind of name recognition. Or Maybe Houston could get the coach at SHSU.
Because that's only 1 game. While UT certainly is not good right now, they have beaten Michigan St, UNC (yes, I know they're down this season), Pitt, Ok. St. twice, A&M... Meanwhile, Memphis hasn't beaten even 1 team projected to be in the tourney except Oakland.
Bob Marlin would be great at UH. As a Sam grad, I'd hate to lose him because the good times would almost certainly end, but I'd be happy to see him at UH. he's won everywhere he's been and it's about time he's on a bigger stage.
oh my freaking lord. 11am tip tomorrow? what is that, 12 hours rest? we are going to get PIE-lastered.
I hope to god so, Donny. The fact that our starters got to rest almost the entire second half against UCF is going to be huge...they've played 1.5 games compared to three for your guys. Should be a fun one, seems like UH-UTEP always is...
Come on Coogs!! So, is getting on CBS worth the 10:30 am start? The players should be able to get up for the game though. Yeah, they will be tired, but this is for the NCAAs. Let's do this UH!
