I don't really get wrapped up in the dogmatic debates over which system is better. Honestly, the XBox 360 and PS3 have so many crossover titles nowadays that you can't go wrong with the game selection on either one, unless you really enjoy a game that is exclusive to one system. I bought a used PS3 last summer. I went with the PS3 for a few reasons: 1) I wanted to stay with playstation because I wanted to have backwards compatibility with the PS2 games that I have; 2) I didn't want to play for online play; and 3) I wanted to play the new Metal Gear Solid game. I don't really use it to play video games that often (MGS4 is the only game I have completed on it since the summer), but I love using it as a media hub. Streaming movies from my laptop to my PS3 has been awesome. The blu-ray player was worth the price of it alone. For ~350, I'd definitely buy it if I were you.
you know what I'm thinking about selling my 60GB launch PS3 too and getting a cheaper model non-BC PS3. I hardly ever play PS2 games anymore, why would I. I just don't know if I am going to make money trying to do that though.
I kind of owe him a favor anyway, we were playing this game of knockout and uh... well.. uh... yeah. Don't pass without looking when you're playing knockout.
Fo me, most importantly: I play my daughters' HD ballet movies as files on the PS3. I share stuff from my Vista PC and laptop, and copy it to my PS3. Other things: I don't know how cool or how to do that or other similar things with the [se]Xbox 360, but I know that I can play some video and photo galleries of my high-resolution photos and HD videos from my camcorder and my new digital camera. One of the things I have been able to do with my PS3 that I didn't think about, was directly watching movies I have stol... I mean, bought... yeah, bought, through torrents on Azureus Vuze. It finds the media servers turned on in my network FAST and can play the media quickly. Vuze is one of them, and VISTA's Media Sharing is another. I really enjoy the backwards compatibility, because I can play all my 6 PS2 games without problems, and I can play the games my daughters and I like to play together, like Tekken Tag and Gran Turismo 4. I only have 3 PS3 games. I can't tell you how much better other system's games are, because I think the PS3's game look great on my TV. And my TV is not even the best one out there. Also, one thing that I really like is how everything is organized. You can see all videos, photos, games, or online play in a well-organized GUI through the XMB. Aside from your own files, it can download video games and store them there (I have about 6 demos) for you to just load them without messing around with discs. I could download more demos or real games, but I don't because I don't have much time to play them... and also 'cuz I am a cheapskate. My next game will be Little Big Planet as I have read great stuff about it. You can also customize the GUI and download themes, wallpapers, buttons, etc., for your XMB. The wireless controllers are awesome. No more wires. One more thing: you can shut down your PS3 from your controller across the room, and even turn it on after it being on standby. I won't mention BLU-ray because you know that already, but I will tell you that I don't have a 1080p HDTV (it's only 1080i DLP), but the movies on regular DVDs look FAN-FREAKIN'-TASTIC when the PS3 upconverts them. Monsters, Inc. looks like it was in BLU-ray, even when it's a regular ol' DVD. And it also saves the spot where you last were on a movie you've inserted before. If they make Bloodsport or Enter the Dragon on Blu-ray, you know I'm buying it, sir. These and other features are what made me realize I made a great investment when I hopped on the moestavern19 train of PS3 knowledge and distribution. I am glad I did. Whether you get one for the bundle price you first asked about, or from moestavern19ps3sforsale.com, a PS3 is a great system you should get. I am glad I did. You should, too, Bolo.
Email me details through the board. i forgot to mention. one other reason i'm thinking of finally buying a ps3 is b/c i've got $120 in gift/reward cards to best buy. you'll accept those as payment right, buddy?
I 2nd that!! Though I download the 720p rips though because those 1080p rips are HUGE! I found Taken in HD already. AWESOME!
That actually reminds me: PS3 controllers have internal rechargable batteries. 360 controllers you have to either burn through AA batteries, or you have to buy separate plug-and-play accessories.
riiiight. Your account says you aren't allowing emails, You can hit me up through the board... goldbricker@gmail.com
