Controversy averted: Chris Paul voted in over Jeremy Lin in 2013 All-Star Game

It has cross my mind but it's hard to tell on the Internet. Besides, you went on to explain yourself, and someone else in a separate post apparently didn't know how well CP3 plays (unless that's a joke/sarcasm too), so... *shrugs*

Unbelievable yes, but that's just Roxxy. She's very sensitive with anything concerning Jeremy Lin. But, what can you do?

 

Awesome than you for the clarification ( I was off base on the Royce thing) but I still disagree. How is the negative attention of Lin at the All Star Games anywhere near close to the negative attention that Manti got for making up a girl friend & then saying that she died or Lance for lying & doing PED for how many years. Lance's situation has legal ramifications, way more far reaching & way more negative than the disgruntlement of Lin at the All Star games.

The negative attention of Lins situation is no where near close, not even in the same stratosphere as Lance & Teo. I am sorry but i fundamentally disagree with that. No way in hell would this deflect from the other two events. That makes little sense to me. I think you are overrating this way to much. Lance & Teo is a whole other echelon of negative attention Lin can't even touch that.

This is where we disagree because the moral ramifications have to be considered. The reason why Manti & Lance are getting negative coverage is because what they did was morally rephrensible. Like what they did was evil that is why they are getting such negative press & are talked about so much. Lin didn't ask for this so even though some sports journalists will stick there noses in the air it won't be anywhere near the negative press Manti & Leo got.

The NBA All Stars is set up to cause controversy. Since 1975 it has been a fan popularity contest. If you want to think it is skills based then go ahead, but you will be disappointed often in the choices that are made for the all star teams. Popularity has almost nothing to do with skill. Never has, never will. God don’t you all remember high school voting …for anything.

The Rockets own site ran campaigns to get the vote out for all the Rockets on the ballot. Nothing was ever said about vote for the highest skilled player with the best stats. Nope just vote Rockets.

I am ashamed at the glee some on here have for Lin not winning. Sure Lin himself obviously did not want it (Yet). To be OK with his not being voted in is one thing but to be gleeful of it is something completely different. Come on we are supposed to be Rockets fans and we should be sad the NO rockets player was voted in. Sure harden might get the coaches vote. But we are supposed to be Rockets fans and sheer for our Rockets Players ( ALL OF THEM!) This is a Rockets fan site show some dignity for our team. Geesh!

Im a lin fan and i was pretty relieved when it was announced he didnt making it. Im sure a lot of lin haters who arent rox fans relished him being voted in just to see the ensuing ****storm and hoopla but lins a good person and doesnt deserve that.
