I'll take a control freak or hypercritical boss over a people-pleasing equivocator. At least you know where the hell you stand before the end of the year, or decade.
outside of my boss having an affair he has been a pretty cool guy and we get along well. he doesnt micromanage me or my employees at all which is a relief since the other upper management managers at my company tend to micromanage a lot
They just want to make sure everything is done properly. You have to prove to them that you're incapable of f***ing up.
I hate people trying to micromanage me - it won't work. About the boss having an affair (I guess with a co-worker of yours?) - as long as it doesn't really show in the workplace, I would say it's pretty much a non-issue, or does it cause any problems? I think it happens almost everywhere... I was thinking the same thing .
The Director I am working under is not just a control freak, she belittles and tries to intimidate employees regularly...face to face and in front of co-workers. This lady has no people skills whatsoever, and demands respect. I've got news for her...respect is earned. To top it off, my Manager has no gonads, and will regularly throw me under the bus just to make himself look good. Trying to transfer out...but it may take a while. Glad to have a job, but the situation I am in sucks. PS: The worst control freak bad-management bosses I've ever had have all been women! I believe they have a built-in inferiority complex that they overcompensate for when put into a situation where they have to manage people.
