How many good or even decent players are going to play for the minimum salary in the NBA though? Not many. So they will still be getting scrubs, even if they're allowed to go over the cap.
OK, I see. Now, does that mean that they are forced to stay within that cap hold range to hit the minimum roster size? In other words, they can't go and use up that space and have 8 players signed total then say, if we need to hit the minimum roster size, you have to let us sign x more players to min contracts?
I can actually see lots of vets with 10 yrs or more playing for the vets minimum, especially if they have never won anything.
if you take away the tax... its about the same. make no mistake that this factor into bosh's (maybe lebron) decision as well. its almost like getting a max contract if not more in another city.
Uh, what? Do you think the Heat wanted to give away four first round draft picks for the fun of it? I think it goes without saying that these three guys and this particular free agency was an incredibly unique situation - and even so, they still went out of their way to let the Heat know that they wanted that sixth year. It's slightly under the absolute max given the unique situation, but it's still more years and more guaranteed money than they could have gotten in a straight up signing.
Raja Bell and Q-Rich have been rumored there and they are good. If they get Miller and one of them then they are basically covered in the wing spots. Shaq, Big Z, Miller...wouldn't be suprised to see one of them ring chase.
why not just have lebron at the 1? lebron wade miller bosh random human being pretty amazing team there
Prediction: If LeBron wins a title with the Heat, he'll try and go back to Cleveland and win one for his hometown.
