Agreed. People take so many things for granted in this city just because it doesn't get the publicity that other cities do. We have everything anyone would ever want, no state tax, relatively cheaper gasoline, a team in every major (important) sport, a soon to be great freeway system, and pretty good weather. Not to mention some beautiful women. Wanna know who think Houston is great? The people that are moving here from places like Chicago, L.A., New York, etc. They appreciate the crap that we take for granted.

    And for some names:

    The Greens @ McKinney
    The Haven @ Downtown
    The Garden Downtown
    Recreation Park

what the hell are you smoking with that comment? the ONLY people I have ever heard claim that Houston has good weather are people who were born and bred here

I have never in my life heard someone from California, etc, think that Houston has good weather when they visit. and I know a ton of family and friends from there who have visited

as far as your other comment about a lot of people from NYC, LA, Chicago, etc, moving here, that is true. but pretty much the only reason is cost of living. not the 'beauty' of the city itself, lol. well, the restaurant scene does compare with any other city in the country

the weather isn't that bad. there aren't any real extreme heat or cold days. it's very temperate and tropical. you'll never hear somebody from cali say we have nice weather, but compared to the rest of the US we have it pretty well. and we have the best restaurant selection in the country.

Yeah lemme tell you that the people I KNOW here that came from Chicago, Detroit, Minnesota, Indiana, or any other northern state, really b**** about our weather. This isn't California weather I know, but we have our fair share of nice days (today and yesterday are examples). Cost of living being the only reason? How bout the job opportunities? The medicine? The night life? The food? The shopping? The beaches? And I know our beaches do not touch Miami, or Cali, but they're still there. I'd put money on Houston being the most well-rounded city in this country.

this, along with "it rains everyday" are the two biggest overstatements about our weather.
