hmmm I am going to guess Detroit is going to be the one most likely to trade.. the AI/Rip situation isn't working... and my guess is Rip is going to be the one to go. So, I will say... Rip and Sheed for Tmac and Luther... at the deadline. Yes, this messes up the 2010 situation a bit, but it also kills a couple of birds with one stone. Also I don't think they are willing to give up Tayshaun and he and AI are the only other two on the Pistons roster who can get close to matching Tmac's salary for the year. It really depends on how much the Rockets really want to get Tmac out of town.
GOAT, I don't actually want him traded, my order of preference for trade would be. 1. TMac 2. Artest 3. Battier To me one of them has to go because there are not enough minutes, and we have 2 more quality wings in Barry and Wafer....which makes 5....so one has to go to get us a PG...IMO... And, to me, Artest is the easiest contract to trade......I just don't think you can get value for Tmac right now and he is more valuable next year.....and Battier is underated as a player...every team needs someone that does the little things and is a QB on the court.... So....to me that leaves Artest.....if he could net us Hinrich......it would make the team SOOOO much better. Hinrich is not Artest's equal, but we have Artest's skill set covered by other players.....and Hinrich is a quality starting PG...something we don't have... So you actually improve the team by taking on a lessor player because they would have more impact on our team overall. Does that make sense? DD
first of all i do understand what you are saying......I just wanted to make sure you were not thinking that he was doing something wrong....now saying that I believe a 3 team deal could get something done that would get us wallace and hinrich for the likes of alston and battier....here is one i came up really quick http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...~2834~1026&teams=10~4~4~30~30~30~10&te=&cash= Bobcats are trying to move Wallace's contract, Battier and Hayes are the Larry Brown type players Dorsey is to make the deal work Chicago is trying to move from Hinrich's contract...well Head comes off this year and Rafer in 2010... Now DD you have your PG and you are getting a younger and more atheletic version of Battier.... Hinrich, Brooks Tmac, Wafer, Barry Wallace, Artest Scola, Landry Yao, Deke that roster would compete with anyone....also when Tmac acts an ass have enough to replace him with... What do you think DD
DD, sorry but you couldn't give me 5 Kirk Hinrich's for one Ron Artest. Hinrich is way overrated on this board. For what it would cost I would rather stick with Skip to My Brick and Brooks as the PG tandem. I don't know what Artest is going to cost next year or if he even has any intentions to resign with the rockets, but I would think the rockets could yield much much more in a trade out east than trading him for Kirk Hinrich. I'm still waiting to see some sort of rotation continuity at the end of games in the rockets with T-Mac, Shane, Brooks, Yao and Artest. If healthy and with heads on straight (we know who), that has got to be one of the most lethal lineups in the league.
Houston Rockets Incoming Players Gerald Wallace Salary: $9,500,000 Years Remaining: 4 PTS: 16.2 REB: 7.4 AST: 2.3 PER: 17.83 Outgoing Players: Luther Head, Ron Artest Charlotte Bobcats Incoming Players Luther Head Salary: $1,962,378 Years Remaining: 1 PTS: 4.8 REB: 1.2 AST: 1.6 PER: 10.10 Ron Artest Salary: $7,400,000 Years Remaining: 1 PTS: 16.0 REB: 5.4 AST: 2.9 PER: 14.85 Outgoing Players: Gerald Wallace I WISH!!!
hate to say it but tmac is not a candidate to go anywhere this year. my first two guesses were already said (ron --> g.wallace / ron --> hinrich), so here is my new guess: RON/HEAD ---> DET for RIP. FEB19
If we get Hinrich, Alston has to go, there will be not PT for him. So Artest/Alston have to be packaged together. Alston/Tmac/Artest for Nash/J Rich/Filler or TMac/Artest for Redd/RJ

ah for fun why not on 2/19 rafer tmac to indiana for tj ford jamal tinsely mike dunleavy roy hibbert have to take on tinsely contract and dunleavy's contract but allows the team to be a a 2011 FA player. also gets rid of alston and dunleavy can succeed in a RA system i believe and ford is the scoring PG that can put pressure on the defenses. Hibbert is a future backup to Yao allows indiana to be a 2010 player to get a major piece along with granger...gives them a good 2/3 combo with tmac and granger and rafer to run the system and jarret jack is still the backup there.
I am against any trade where Rafer remains in Houston, or anywhere near Houston. Probably out of Texas, maybe another country.
I dought Morey does it as well. That would be like Morey dropping the soap in the prison shower with Big old Larry Bird standing right behind. I don't think Morey is going to get fleeced in any upcoming deal.
