Yeah honestly, our performance has been horrible the past few games. We couldn't beat an NO team that tried to give the game to us, we BARELY beat half the roster of the Utah Jazz and even that took TWO OVERTIMES, and now we LOSE to an EASTERN CONFERENCE BASEMENT DWELLER who didn't even have CARON BUTLER. It should've been a painless 3-0 for us, but instead its been an extremely painful and morale deflating 1-2.
But he definitely wasnt our best player ON THE NIGHT. You dont go to somebody who has been shooting horribly all night long, you go to the HOT HAND.
"Don't worry ... it's early in the season. We always start slow. Once we get it going, we'll be right there at the end." Nope.
Coaching is more of a problem than anything currently. I honestly can't stand to look at Rick Adelman with his action figure like features all the time (shaking his head and holding his arms out whenever a questionable call is made). Giving the final shot to a struggling Yao makes absolutely no sense. At least try and give it to one of your wing men, so they can drive in and get a foul if they can't get a bucket.
I'm a huge fan of Scola, but he was completely outplayed by Jamison. It wasn't as if Jamison made tough shots, there were several times Scola wasn't even within 10 feet of Jamison's wide open jumpers. I thought the commentary by Bill Worrell and Clyde was also horrible. First they gush about Rick Adelman "dancing with the guys that brought you here" only to see Coach Adelman immediatley put in Rafer and TMAC again as predictably as it gets. Now I'm hearing Clyde talking about RA's fierce loyalty to his starters. The utter lack of intensity at the beginning of this game was so apparent. I don't understand how the Rox can come out onto the court acting like that--even if it is the Wizards. They have earned nothing to deserve to act like that. One thing that concerns me about this team is the total lack of killer instinct.
Well put. Total weak ass effort in all of these games that should have been EASY wins. You would think the Rox would have awoken long before the Wiz game but they seem to have gotten much worse about playing to the level of competition they face. And to lose at home like this! At least play with some heart for 48 minutes!
Putting in three "ice cold" players to end the game with less that three minutes left after a group of "red hot" reserves got you the lead, please explain. I understand the injury excuse, but the Rockets look consistently unprepared for the games they play. I am starting to look to the coaches as to why this group of players consistently under perform.
relax people it happens, the celts lost to the 7-20 something or whatever they were warriors last week.......the lakers lost to a kings team that was 5-18 or something like that though if the rockets do it again, then it's inexcusable.
Those were road games for both however. This was a game against a team whose road record is the worst in the conference.
i thought wizards played pretty good today. They're better than their record. They almost be the cavs a few days ago and Jamison has always given us matchup problems. It's a tough loss for sure, but not the end of the world.
Anyone who now considers the 2008/2009 Houston Rockets as Contenders must be expecting a miracle. Miracles come when we least expect it. If it comes to our Rockets I only hope that Coach Adelman and his team of dimwit coaches know how to use it to our advantage. a)Morey better get busy right away:- b) Back up Big Man c)Starting Playmaker Point Guard d)A scoring guard who can make his own plays to replace Tracy, next season e)A New Head Coach Next season
I guess a contender might lose to a 4-23 team. A contender wouldn't go out and put out a totally pathetic effort though against a 4-23 team, looking like they were comatose and scoring less than 40 points before the half. I've said it over and over, the Rockets aren't going anywhere.
