Of course, by "every" you do not include the Senate Majority leader, who lives in a state where Obamacare is wildly popular so he was afraid to mention repealing KYNECT, lest he lose, .

I dare him to try though.

He let the market work. Ignored the people who were anti big oil.

Except for Keystone. That was stupid.

Keystone is the dirtiest, most polluting, CO2 intensive oil on the planet. Obviously from the dropping price of oil the world doesn't need it right now. The oil from it will flow through the US to export zones where it will provide few jobs for Americans and almost no tax revenue while exposing the US to the risks of leaks.

The only people that are pushing for it are Canadian oil companies and the toadies they pay.

If Canadians want to exploit it for their 1%, fine, we just don't need to bend over to help them.

Keystone is designed to help move oil to the coast so it can be exported. That oil is currently stuck in North America, which helps lower gas prices in some areas. The idea behind Keystone is to allow the gas to be sold overseas where it can generate higher prices.

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/timwors...xl-wont-lower-gas-prices-it-might-raise-them/

He provides some alternative reasoning in the article, but presents the standard view:

In Keystone’s weirdonomics, the pipeline would actually increase prices of gasoline for much of the country, according to at least three studies that have looked into it. Keystone would divert crude from Midwest refineries to Gulf Coast refineries, where it would then be shipped to more expensive markets. Bypassing heartland refineries could drive up prices at home.

For people living in the Midwest, Great Plains and Rocky Mountains, it could add 20 cents a gallon to the price at the pump.

That said, regardless of Obama's position on Keystone, it's delayed regardless due to pending lawsuits in Nebraska. The route is being challenged and until that's resolved, they can't really do anything.

I live in the Rockies (Billings, MT) about as close to the Bakken as is possible AND there are 3 oil refineries here. Our gas is among the highest in the nation and has been for quite some time.

    I call bull*****.

    You would be wrong.

Consumers in Colorado and Wyoming currently pay less for gasoline than anywhere in the nation because of the supply glut in the Rocky Mountains caused by stranded Canadian imports and growing oil production from onshore fields. Denver’s average price of $3.13 a gallon today was 43 cents lower, or 12 percent, than Houston’s $3.56 average, according to AAA......Completion of the entire pipeline would raise prices at the pump in the Midwest and Rocky Mountains 10 to 20 cents a gallon, Verleger, the Colorado consultant, said in an e-mail message.
