If you don't vote for us, you are a racist ******* just is not a good strategy. Howard Dean may not have been a good chairman, but he is a very smart guy.
Considering Howard Dean presided over huge Democratic gains in 2006 and 2008 I would say he was a very good chairman.
Thanks for posting this, Azadre. While left-wingers are quick to denounce more conservative people as bigots and racists, I just read an independent study about xenophobia and racism in German political mainstream parties, and it turned out that they are in fact more prevalent in the "left-wing" social democratic party than in any other party. Similarly, on this board, some of the left-wing posters have made the most racist comments, notably SamFisher and Batman Jones. It is funny how their not-really-so-subtle racism comes out and they take off the mask when they are too eager to try and take a shot at someone.
I think we all know that a sizable number of conservatives, probably about 50% of the tea bagger crowd are overtly racist. Fortunately, despite having some political power, they have very little economic power and certainly tend to be older and less educated. That should bear hope that their numbers will dwindle and further more down the line.
republicans/conservatives arent racists...but if you're racist, you're probably a republican/conservative
Liberals think that blacks and Hispanics are just too stupid to deal with the complexities of life and must be assisted by government elites.
Interesting. I've always felt that there are way more racists than conservatives. That said, we may have different thresholds of what constitutes a racist.
there are definitely a lot of racist democrats, but they tend to be the big labor type that are dems for other reasons. but overall, there's just a lot of stupid people in this country. And when people say Muslims attacked America - that's a sure sign of being a certified bigot.
Republicans think blacks and Hispanics are stupid enough to start voting for the Republican party simply because they've "tricked out" their website.
No Conservatives are not all racist. But they do seem to be largely apathetic towards racism except when it is insinuated that they might be racist. The fact is that Palandino from NY who sent overtly racist e-mails would not be tolerated by Dems. Not all conservatives support him, but they certainly don't seem to care enough to do anything about him. When it comes to bigotry against Muslims conservatives speak out even less. There just isn't a great conservative crusade against bigotry.
