Connick Jnr. starts race row over tv skit in Australia.

I openly admit to their being absolute racist idiots in my state of Tasmania.

They are obviously in the minority, but the rate of attacks (physical and/or verbal) on the Asian and African people who have migrated here (welcomed with open arms by most) is getting to be a real concern.

There are always sub-sections of society that are just racist trash, but let them NOT speak for a nation.

 

Gokatron acts as if there is no racism in Australia and that the minorities being attacked are just random acts of violence. This apparently is the reason why nobody is allowed to be offended by the skit....

Reminds me of an episode of the Wire where a State's witness gets killed for testifying against a drug dealer and the police claim that they are "looking into the possibility that this was a random act of violence"...

 

I can only speak for Tasmania, which is kind of 'cut off' from the more progressive capital cities.

As I was saying though, no doubt sub-sections of racist arseholes live there aswell.

 

For a little balance and perspective, I seem to see/hear/read a lot of stories about innocent Australian caucasions who cop pretty harsh beatdowns in Sydney/Melbourne/other major Australian cities from other ethnic gangs also.

 

ALL racism is wrong.
