... and even more smoke. Plus the WH somehow neglected to acknowledge meeting with Russian bank under sanctions...

Report: Jared Kushner had undisclosed meeting with head of Russian bank under sanctions

My sources are saying the Russians are likely pushing Trump to massively increase defense spending in his budget. I also hear that Trump's plans to promote LNG exports and liberal drilling policies are being pushed by the Russians too.

After what he did in the past, why would anybody want his opinion about foreign affairs? If any foreign representative looks at him funny, I wouldn't be surprised that he would spin that as act of war.

Remember when congressman Gowdy told the truth? No, I don't either, but here's another outright untruth:

Trey Gowdy claims Nunes never talked to Trump about Russia — even though he admitted he did

I get the feeling that some people are trying to shout "Russia!" in a crowded theater but are not getting the panic they were hoping for.

More convolution. Nunes' remarks are in regards to the investigation of Trump's wiretapping claims - not Russia. Nunes even emphasized that it had nothing to do with Russia.

I'm still reading in the broader media about a congressional Trump-Russia investigation. No such investigation exists, yet many seem to think otherwise.

@Cohete Rojo is right. That article (and the post) calls Gowdy a liar and uses the Nunes statement as the "gotcha!" However, Nunes claims the "incidental collection" had nothing to do with Russia and so, in fact, his briefing of the president had nothing to do with Russia. Gowdy is telling the truth when he says that his understanding is that Nunes didn't brief the president on Russia.

Now, his comment that we've sunk to a new low is lame.

Nunes has changed his story around the meeting with Trump, and what was discussed at least twice already. Furthermore, Trump and his people have used various versions of the meetings to supports earlier accusations that Trump has made about Obama. And now we are finding about some new meeting(s) that happened on the White House grounds.

I think the only thing that is clear is that Nunes should not be leading any investigation and that as members of both parties are calling for, an independent investigation is needed.

Dealing with a bank that is specifically listed in sanctions is a crime. This should be investigated and if true should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

It is convolution for sure. It's also obvious that is on purpose. Its correct that these are two different things that are being mixed as one in order to confuse Americans. The focus needs to be on Russian meddling in our election so we make sure it never happens again. Why the Republicans are trying to convolute that is a question only Republicans can answer. Why there is no concern from the right at all about a hostile foreign power meddling in our election is beyond me.

Make no mistake.... this is a diversion tactic and the Right knows it, and is embracing it instead of being Patriotic Americans playing tribal politics. This is sad that the Right calls themselves Patriots all the damn time, but want to bury anything that MIGHT involve their tribe.

    Huh....

    http://www.politico.com/story/2017/01/house-intelligence-committee-russia-trump-234168

Its technically a probe, but they sure as hell are investigating aspects of Trumps involvement with the Russians. You are spreading false information if you are trying to claim otherwise.

HOWEVER... due to the Nunes situation, its obvious that the Congressional investigation isn't going so well, and has blown up to a Partisan split. The Democrats have asked for Nunes to recuse himself, and Nunes & Paul Ryan are obviously shielding the President and obstructing a real investigation from happening.

So you are right and you are wrong. There is a probe that has been widely reported. Is its credible.... Hell no. If we are going to get the truth before the 2018 mid terms (if the Dems take back the House and call for a special prosecutor), its going to come from Comey & the FBI presenting charges to Grand Jury. Ryan and Nunes will continue to protect the President and obstruct a real credible investigation. That is fairly obvious. The media or the FBI will have to uncover something that presents clear evidence of collusion to force Congress and the House Speaker to do a damn thing.

Also the Senate is investigating as well, but I would be surprised if Partisan splits dont eventually bring that one to a screeching halt as well. Their first public hearing is next week I believe.

Look, I'm not asking you to take off the MAGA hat, and to not provide a Pro-Trump perspective, but don't bullsh*% us please. People aren't stupid. There is more than enough reason to investigate the Trump campaign, and you damn well know it.
