Thanks for pulling the stats to prove my thinking that he is very overated. Not one of the elites, not a max player to me.
Still say the best fit in the league next to Harden is Avery Bradley, who supposedly is 1 of many currently available from Boston While not an 'elite PG' (or even a PG really), he is Bev fully maxed out and would be perfect next to Harden 1st team All D Excellent spot up shooter Doesnt need the ball but much better creating his own shot and finishing drives than Bev would ever be Plus hes locked in to same deal as Brewer ... great value Would love to see Bradley starting next to James this season
Mike Fisher of Dallasbasketball.com just tweeted this 23 mins ago: mike fisher ✭ @fishsports 23m23 minutes ago ALERT: Source close to #MikeConley sitch tells me: They expect max from #Grizzlies ..AND #Mavs now 'long, longshot' Looks like Conley is about to go off the board.

This Tweet makes my day. If there's a silver lining in the Rockets potentially striking out in free agency, it's this.
People seem to confuse max pay with elite, but the 2 are not directly tied. Max pay is tied to the market and current values of players per projected cap space as well as how desperate teams are. Conley might not be an elite player, but he is certainly worth the max for a lot of teams.
I-45 Has been Carrying a lot of Leverage in recent years. Bosh, Whiteside, Parsons, DeAndre, Batum, Carmelo, Dwight (a time or two) and maybe Conley. Let's see if Horford is the newest driver. At least Durant isn't using us, Thanks James!

The #Mavs 'are leverage' accusation is real. Part of the game. But HW + Nic both played it. Now Conley's about to get $154M. The first thing that came to my mind when reading this was how both Bosh and Melo (twice) used Houston for leverage in years past. I'm sure there's more
You need to stop thinking about 'overpaying' players. Batum just got paid 5yr/$120Mil Mozgov 4yr/$64Mil Just pretend Oprah is every team's GM. YOU GET A MAX! YOU GET A MAX! EVERYONE GETS MAX CONTRACTS!!
Is Conley's game really that much different then Ty Lawson's? Don't want to eat up cap space for years while making the same basketball fit mistake again.
