As much free time as they have, they still shouldn't be worried about this. Even steroids was about illegal drugs. This is about purely football. These colleges can do what they want

Add to that, there are real issues you could look at in college sports, whether these kids are being educated, should they be paid, etc. not whether they should be playing in a bowl or not, nothing could be dumber for them to be looking at.

Who's being hurt by not having a playoff? UT and SC fans?

In the past, it's been the non-BCS schools because of $$$. The Utah, Boise States, BYU's of the world. And it was the congresspeople from those states that would bring it up.

I think a BCS game is worth about $15 million to a conference. So the WAC lost $15 million with Boise State not being picked this year, etc.

I would like to see a comprehensive sports bill that includes...

-Making it illegal for cities to use taxpayer funds (local, state) to steal other cities' sports teams by giving away stadiums/arenas (Corp Welfare for them).

-Making groups of citizens allowed to own franchises (e.g., more Green Bay's-- superceed current Pro League rules of ownership).

-Making College Football set a minimum of an 8 game playoff.

These industries are monopolies, or close to it, and some have special federal protections not given to any normal industry--thus we the people (Gov) have therefore more rights to make stipulations.

All they are saying is that the BCS can't name someone a national champion unless there is a playoff because they exclude teams that are worthy for a spot.

If it means anything to anyone, the Texas Longhorns athletic program will get more money from me if college football decides to go to a playoff system of 8 to 16 teams.
