We would have still been under the Tax if we just kept Levert. I am going to pissed about that for a long time. We could have had a good 2 guard and still tanked and still got under the luxury tax.

This is the new Landrys experience. Before Tilly, you could get your meal comped at Landrys if you didnt like it. Now if you're lucky, you might get a gift certificate.

The new Rockets experience. You can try to win all you want, just dont go over 132M. Thats his profit margin.

Should’ve just dumped him to the Knicks for draft picks and a couple of their failing draft choices.

Damn, I thought we’d get some young assets. No Herro, no precious, no picks.

The problem is why do the rockets keep putting themselves in this situation? Nobody is forcing them to go into the luxury tax to begin with. Why are they constantly positioned such that they are in the tax, and have to dump assets to get out? How about you just stay out of the luxury tax and that way you don't have to give away picks and players every year?

Common problem going from contender to tank(er). Contender avoiding tax? Yeah, that pisses me off. Now? nah

Exactly, if it was all about getting under the LT why in Hades did they make an offer to VO to begin with?

Would you pay luxury tax on this bs roster? If so, I think I can help you out with your personal finances. What’s your pin number?

A bad owner would be one who dodges the tax when trying to contend. An absolutely stupid owner would be one who pays the tax when tanking. So you started a thread to tell us you think tilman isn't stupid?

Right now the the tax bill for all teams paying the luxury tax is a collective $252 million, spread across 8 teams. $252 million divided up and given to the remaining 22 teams would net each team/owner about $11.5 million. According to google, the average cost for a yacht is $8.5 million so we should see Tilman in a brand new yacht (with all the bells and whistles) this summer.

Unless we traded for Lebron James this team wouldn't be a contender.

Why not save some money if the point of playing an NBA season is winning RINGZ ERRRNEHH

What a difference a year makes.

This guy has turned this organization upside down in seemingly no time at all.

The Rockets will have their first losing season since 05/06. Only this time no Yao or *cough* McGrady to look forward to next year.

Now we hope that the lotto goes the Rockets way just to have something to get excited about.

I hear folks say why would you pay luxury tax for this tank job... And that is fair. Only an idiot would want to willingly pay extra bucks to suck, while they can suck without paying the premium.

But the Rockets are in "Suck world" because they put themselves there. They went from a promising team that had just won 65 games, and a perennial NBA contender to the NBA cellar. Going all in on Westbrook was beyond stupid, they traded arguably better assets to send Paul to OKC than they got from gifting Harden to Brooklyn.

It's all so very disappointing to watch.....

    Geesh....
