lol, suddenly the UN is important?

The state of resource allocation is very poor but they consider themselves to be faced with two choices:

    1) Cancel the weapons program and focus on the country. In this case, they would slowly become everything they don't want to be on the political side.

    or

    2) Focus on the weapons program and ensure that they don't become a victim.

They're screwed in both cases. Honestly though, considering the area (China/Russia/Japan) and the fact that the top economies on earth are those with the top weapons (coincidence?) they may be thanked by future generations for this.

Again, just to be clear, I don't agree with the humanitarian side of this. But to some extent, they view it as a necessity in order to protect their sovereignty as a nation.

I had not heard they launched a duck into space -- this explains the water landing at least.

Even if somebody else did it, your usage isn't justified. Nobody's is. Do you really feel good about yourself using the term negro? Can't you people make up your mind? Is President Obama black, half-black, not black enough, or just a chameleon that fits whatever racial remark you'd like to make?

the fact that you had to pick a guy who was made famous forty years ago ought to tell you the status of the word negro in today's world.

pgabs, don't feed it. The craving of negative attention is, by all evidence, of infinite depth.

thegary, thank you! My craving is for photochops with clever and appropriate references.

It's an antiquated term from another era in which it was a "polite" substitute for harsher words. Using it really makes you look ignorant, silly, and is indicative of your (and your section of the GOP's) slide into political obscurity. Keep fighting to change the world, basso.

I know a guy born in the mid 70's it says Negro on his BC.

I don't think it is the evil word people are trying to make it out to be.

negro is on my BC from the seventies. that doesn't make it acceptable today. i guess if your point is that it was used in the seventies, and I referenced the sixties, you've scored on technacality.

no my point was that it is not as evil as some people have said. It was not a "which it was a "polite" substitute for harsher words" it was the descriptive word of that time.

i understand that, its just not an acceptable term now, not because it was offensive then, because its offensive now. kind of like calling native americans "indians".
