Yes, a case of bubonic plague has been reported in the United States. A human case was recently identified in Pueblo, Colorado. While the exact source of the infection is still being investigated, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says the U.S. typically sees around 7 human plague cases annually. The plague is caused by the bacteria Yersinia pestis and can be transmitted through flea bites or contact with infected animals. Early diagnosis and treatment with antibiotics are crucial for recovery, according to medical experts.

Republican gerrymandering thread aside- How is it any different in Texas ?

Texas has 12 out of 38, soon to be 43 congressional delegates that are Democrats and 42% of Texans voted Democrat in the 2024 election????

Gov Newsom Scores Calif Supreme Court Win In Redistricting Battle

The California Supreme Court's decision clears a major hurdle for Governor Newsom's effort to reshape the state's congressional map ahead of the 2026 midterms. If successful, Democrats could pick up several seats in one of the nation's bluest states—potentially offsetting Republican gains from aggressive redistricting in Texas.
