    People are moving because it's expensive. A lot of them move to Austin. They all move here for the same reason, Texas is cheaper. There are still plenty of people moving to California at the same time despite it being ridiculously expensive. Give people a choice of Texas or California if adjusted for cost of living and most would pick California.

    What a preposterous claim. Housing prices would not be at the ridiculous levels they are here if no one wanted to live here. People are fleeing because the state government sucks and everything is too expensive. Everything is too expensive precisely because so many people want to live here. It is the same reason everything is so expensive in Manhattan and Miami and Hawaii.

    Manhattan is NY. Those prices are always high. Miami is kind of luxury housing. Hawaii is what it is. Nobody is begging to live in California
