I remember during the last presidential debate between Biden and Trump. In that debate Trump probably mentioned the term "left wing extremist" like a dozen times at least. He labeled many different entities "left wing extremists". Biden mentioned "right wing" maybe once. My point is that DeSantis follows the same mold as Trump where Mad Dog Mathis stated that Trump was the first president of his lifetime to purposefully divide the nation. DeSantis is just more refined in his divisive rhetoric. The thin veneer is tolerable just enough for many educated suburban conservatives and that is the most frightening part about DeSantis.
So the white House urging with no enforcement mechanism and just rhetoric? So would that imply Donald Trump calling Kap a son of a b**** and telling NFL owners to never hire him also a violation of the first amendment?
Oh wait hold up. Does that also mean that when DeSantis threatens tax status over a private company because said private company performed speech critical of government policy DeSantis created, DeSantis is violating the first amendment? Hmm. This seems interesting atw. I think you are on to something.
I actually agree with you about that. But at the same time there are government regulations on businesses already about what they say such as false advertising.
It’s also ridiculous when politicians like DeSantis have shilled for corporate donations and as state legislator voted for tax and other benefits for Disney. This was a point I made about current Conservatives. They aren’t small government pro business but are looking to interfere in private business over culture war issues.
The argument that private property is the de facto town square and this is the same as government censorship is the Marxist. It’s the argument that there really isn’t private property but that it is the same as state property.
Can you imagine if a Democratic gov did this to a republican? Holy **** Fox would get 3 months "news" content out of that, and it would be what every Republican was running on leading to November. Right @AroundTheWorld ?
You probably mean Desantis' actions to be a case of a righteous revenge? Like if Trump breaks the law (by removing CSI docs from white house) in order to expose bias in FBI, it's OK (per your recent post in the mar-a-lago thread)? How do you expect law & order in this country to exist if you adhere to such logic (not that you care, considering you supposedly live in Hungary.)? I hope you don't waste people's time by responding with another non-elaborated denial.
Could you please point me to that post? Thank you in advance for your apology when you cannot find a post where I said that.
(crickets) So, @foh, first you make up a complete lie, stating that I supposedly posted it's ok if Trump breaks the law (which I never did), and then you are too much of a wuss to own your mistake?
