I thought the gop was about LESS government..........ban books, whitewash history, and now ban kids from social media....................yikes, talk about government overreach, but ya`ll like him so you must go for that type of stuff.............well played Floridians.

seems like a lot of people are just lazy and don’t want to do any real parenting…so now the party of small government wants the government all up in everyone’s business
So the people who were complaining about censorship on social media now want to ban social media to a large segment of society. The people who were complaining about a government nanny state banning children from all sorts of things now support government banning things to protect children.
What happened to my body my choice stance? Governemnt telling kids to put on mask is too much for u and get u hot and bothered but denying kids access to social media is fine? What happened to parental rights? Personally I think if u are against the government forcing kids to wear mask bc it ignore parental rights u should b against this social media ban.

As you know, there are minimum age restrictions for alcohol and smoking in the US as well. As to masks, I consider mandates to be ineffective, and even cruel when it comes to very young children.
Y an arbitrary number like 14 then why not make it the same as alcohol and smoking if u want to take that stance? Personally I think the parent should b the one that can deny or restrict access if they don't want their kids surfing the web. What's next banning violent games?
In practice, parents control the access. You may or may not be aware, but in most states, the minimum age is 13 already. Much in politics is about symbolism and raising awareness. As to violent video games - good idea to raise minimum age requirements also, if you ask me.
