The moment DeSantis’ campaign ended He always was going to endorse Trump. He was one of Trump’s biggest backers and was counting on being able to ride Trump like a rocket booster stage. The problem is that meant he couldn’t really run agains Trump then. He couldn’t out flank Trump on the right nor attack Trump’s personally.

To be fair this what Republicans want. They want freedom of choice. The kids that are vaccinated should be fine, but I feel for the kids that have idiots parents that didn't vaccinate them, those kids are going to suffer greatly. Parents are stupid thinking they know what's best for their kids in these kind of situations. I don't know anything about the surgeon general but it sounds to me that he is giving the public fair warning about the possibilities of what could happen. Not saying that this is a good decision, but you vote for individuals like Desantis and this is the kind of **** show you get. I wish prayers actually worked because those unvaccinated kids with stupid parents will really need prayers.
It’s not just the kids whose parents chose not to vaccinate them. There are Children with compromised immune systems who cannot get vaccinated are very much at risk from diseases like measles. Herd immunity is that there is enough vaccinated people to prevent widespread transmission and protect those who can’t get vaccinated. That falls apart if there aren’t enough vaccinated.
