It was a joke, but I have no doubt deSantis is propagandizing education in Florida. Ironically, doing the very thing he accuses those teaching actual facts in classes (i.e., indoctrinating). Because facts have a liberal bias.

Saying facts have a liberal bias shows a liberal bias.

It's quite insane how quickly DeSantis choked in prime time. He looks so weird and uncomfortable. The guy has no idea how to communicate with folks.

Right wing trolls make fun of biden but compare joe and DeSantis from recent.

Biden is double his age yet has 100x the people skills DeSantis has. DeSantis will never be POTUS. He's short and weird. Bullying innocent reporters doesn't make you alpha. He's a tool

Wow, just wow. This might work in Fl but it wont play well elsewhere.....well in places where they voted for MTG and the likes it probably will. They want an all-white version of history. I am not sure what's worse, that he is doing it or his constituents want him to do it. And this dude may run for President?

So let’s teach about the inhumane incarceration of Asian Americans but let’s stop talking about the inhumane incarceration of black Americans..

The Guardian headline is not only misleading, but fraudulent. We have been over this.

His college board rejected a specific course which advocated "critical race theory", reparations, and overthrowing the current constitution and economic system, in favour of basically communism. In fact, he didn't ban African American studies, it's a required subject.

Oldest trick in the book - sneak in all kinds of radical ideology (radical reparation demands, communist ideology, racist ideology disguised as "critical race theory") under the guise of something that would normally not only be uncontroversial, but unanimously agreed and welcomed (African-American studies).

When you get caught and called out, cry foul and say it's racism.

    Rinse.

    Repeat.

Unfortunately, people who only read misleading headlines keep falling for this stuff.

"DEI" sounds positive at the surface, but the initiatives pushed forward by it aren't always. Again, positive framing to advance certain ideologies. I don't think it is racist per se to push back against these ideologies. Of course, that must not mean deepening racial divide and disadvantages for minorities, specifically black people. Difficult topic.

dang, obligated in his state... maybe he should rethink about all the boogieman he's been attacking and grow a pair and go after Trump head on.

    https://www.fau.edu/newsdesk/articles/april2023-voter-poll

69 percent of registered Republican voters in Florida still say they support Trump as the 2024 Republican presidential nominee, while another 18 percent say they “somewhat support” him, according to a recent poll conducted by Florida Atlantic University, in collaboration with Mainstreet Research.

According to the poll, Trump would win over DeSantis by a significant margin if the primary were held when the poll was completed between April 13-14. When the same group of voters was asked about their choice for the upcoming Republican presidential primary, approximately 6 out of 10 (59 percent) chose Trump, while about 3 out of 10 (31 percent) chose DeSantis.

he did give a tepid attack the other day

“But there’s no substitute for victory,” he said. “We must reject the culture of losing that has infected our party in recent years.”

“The time for excuses is over. We got to demonstrate the courage to lead and the strength to win,” DeSantis added.

His comments come as the Florida governor appears to be close to launching a run for the Republican nomination for president in 2024. He has on multiple occasions visited early-voting states in the Republican nominating process like Iowa and South Carolina recently, and he said earlier this month that he recognizes he needs to make a decision about the future “relatively soon.”

DeSantis did not directly name Trump but seemed to join in blaming the current frontrunner for the Republican nomination for the party’s performance in recent elections.

“If we get distracted, if we focus the election on the past or on other side issues, then I think the Democrats are going to beat us again, and I think it’ll be very difficult to recover from that defeat,” he said.
