Not surprised. DeSantis is a fascist. Pure obstinance is why this chick stays in FL. She's straight in DeSantis' crosshairs since her Covid whistleblower thing. Protect your kids, lady. Your pride isn't worth it. 'Winning' isn't worth it. Also, keep your kids off social media at all costs. I do feel for this lady but she's making the wrong parenting choices.
Yes and yes. DeSantis had her fire and she has an active legal case against the state for her being illegally being fired.
Jones has had prior criminal charges. At the time the search warrant was executed, Jones was facing an active misdemeanor charge on allegations of cyberstalking a former student of hers who was a romantic partner and publishing sexual details about their relationship online. She was fired from her Florida State University teaching position for threatening to give a failing grade to her romantic partner's roommate.[108] She faced prior charges including felony robbery, trespass, and contempt of court stemming from an alleged violation of a domestic violence restraining order related to the same ex-boyfriend, but those charges were dropped. In 2017, she had been arrested and charged with criminal mischief in the vandalism of his car, but the charges were dropped.[108][109][110][86] Jones faced criminal charges in Louisiana in 2016 where she was arrested and charged by the LSU Police Department with one count each of battery on a police officer and remaining after forbidden and two counts of resisting arrest after refusing to vacate a Louisiana State University office upon being dismissed from her staff position. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebekah_Jones I'd question her credibility.
Came across this from that wiki. In June 2021, she was suspended from Twitter for violations of the Twitter rules on spam and platform manipulation.[90][91] Governor DeSantis's office welcomed the suspension, with a spokesperson calling it "long overdue" and accusing Jones of spreading "defamatory conspiracy theories".
Probably not. She was suspended for "spam and manipulation", not "conspiracy theories." I doubt DeSantis admin would know anything about how the platform detects spam or manipulation. Nevertheless, the DeSantis admin is happy about the suspension based on 'her spreading conspiracy theories,' the very thing that they recently passed a law to protect (which I think was already ruled unconstituional). Some may call this hypocrisy, which is fair. I chalked it up to the same old crap I have seen from the DeSantis camp and their supporters - silence those I don't like but never allow silencing of those I like.
Florida health officials removed key data from COVID vaccine report (tampabay.com) Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo announced in October that young men should not get the COVID-19 vaccine, guidance that runs counter to medical advice issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. His recommendation was based on a state analysis that showed the risk of cardiac-related deaths increased significantly for some age groups after receiving a vaccine. It has been criticized by experts, including professors and epidemiologists at the University of Florida, where Ladapo is employed as a professor. Now, draft versions of the analysis obtained by the Tampa Bay Times show that this recommendation was made despite the state having contradictory data. It showed that catching COVID-19 could increase the chances of a cardiac-related death much more than getting the vaccine. That data was included in an earlier version of the state’s analysis but was missing from the final version compiled and posted online by the Florida Department of Health. Ladapo did not reference the contradictory data in a release posted by the state. The Times’ records request asked for all previous versions of the state analysis made public on Oct. 7. The documents show that, before the final version was released, at least five drafts had been produced. One version included a data table showing the number of cardiac-related deaths from infection. The conclusion in four of the drafts provided a counterpoint to Ladapo’s assertion about the vaccine. Four epidemiologists who reviewed the drafts said the omission is inexplicable and flawed from a scientific standpoint. They said that, based on the missing data, Ladapo’s recommendation should be rescinded. Matt Hitchings, an infectious disease epidemiologist and professor of biostatistics at the University of Florida, said it seems that sections of the analysis were omitted because they did not fit the narrative the surgeon general wanted to push. “This is a grave violation of research integrity,” Hitchings said. “(The vaccine) has done a lot to advance the health of people of Florida and he’s encouraging people to mistrust it.” ...
Ladapo is correct. https://sciencenorway.no/cardiovasc...t-from-covid-vaccination-in-young-men/2017407
You either didn't read or didn't understand it. Regardless, it doesn't support Ladapo's position that kids shouldn't be vaccinated. In fact, it aligns with the CDC and pretty much all expert bodies, which hold the position that the risk of heart problems is greater from a COVID infection. Moreover, the unethical behavior of removing key data is simply unacceptable and indefensible.
So... you're okay with governments redacting valid data, as long as it supports your team and beliefs. That is what you are saying.
Also she SHOULD maybe be a better parent so her son would not be in a position of threatening to shoot up the school? Was that small detail not important or something for this supposed "mom" ? - Play stupid games win stupid prizes 101
Hilarious how people in this thread saw DeSantis as a legitimate threat for president. Guy has zero political skills and collapsed exactly like I thought he would. @AroundTheWorld got conned again. What a surprise. Being facist is when you do things that are completely opposite of what society wants. Pandering to your right wing nutjob base
