And there you have it Ladies and Gentleman. In a decade, Deckard will be telling us Trump was actually pretty normal and acceptable compared to today's Republican darling. News flash: Trump IS that bad. People like Deckard are why we get Trump/Hillary matchups.
When did you become blind as a bat? You don't care what your "hero" is doing to destroy women's rights? Their right to have control of their own bodies? A right they had for decades under established law that trump and McConnell's extremist appointments to the Supreme Court tossed in the garbage? Something DeSantis glorifies as a great thing? I'll add that calling me "unhinged" for having a demonstrably logical opinion of DeSantis hardly makes you look good, in my humble opinion.
Prosecutorial discretion is a long established practice. Our judiciary system would collapse if prosecutors prosecuted every single incident a law was broken. That still doesn’t answer my question. Does DeSantis then believe there are not systemic injustices in the criminal justice system?
Congratulations to Governor DeSantis - Vladimir Putin has now passed his own Don't Say Gay laws. @AroundTheWorld warmly welcome to Mother Russia
Agreed. DeSantis is actually effective at implementing his agenda while Trump is easily distracted and swayed.
Ron DeSantis worked with gas-station lobbyists who wanted to weaken a gas-tax break for consumers https://jasongarcia.substack.com/p/ron-desantis-worked-with-gas-station Just before the start of this year’s session of the Florida Legislature, Gov. Ron DeSantis publicly unveiled a plan to suspend the state’s tax on gasoline — a temporary tax “holiday” that the governor said would bring badly needed relief to Floridians struggling with rising prices at the pump. And to make sure that this tax break was truly passed on to Florida drivers, the governor proposed a harsh penalty for any fuel supplier or gas station tempted to pocket the tax savings themselves: Third-degree felony charges, punishable by up to five years in prison. But a few weeks later, according to emails obtained through a public-records request, lobbyists representing some of the largest gas station chains in the country privately sent a rewritten version of the governor’s proposed gas-tax holiday to one of DeSantis’ senior aides. The lobbyist version of the bill removed any threat of criminal punishment for failing to pass the tax savings on to consumers. The emails don’t show how DeSantis or his staff reacted to the request, and the Governor’s Office declined to answer questions about it. But when the legislative session ended, and DeSantis triumphantly signed his gas-tax holiday into law, the proposed felony penalties had disappeared. DeSantis’ gas-tax holiday didn’t actually occur until October (a politically advantageous delay that separate records show was suggested by the governor’s own staff). But when it did, the month-long tax holiday produced an estimated $214 million in tax savings. Experts say much of that money was swallowed up by suppliers.
It's pretty simple, he decided he liked owning the libs so much he decided to become a full time troll. He went full bore once he moved to Florida. Are you now Florida Man @AroundTheWorld?
Going to be a lot of this stuff coming out about DeSantis, there is a reason he is darling of the establishment, he knows how to make him them money. When he gets on the national stage, he is not going to be able to bluster his way out of answering some hard questions. And its stuff like this that everybody cares about gas prices.
Absolutely https://floridaman.com/calls-911-ice-cream-liquor/ FLORIDA MAN CALLS 911 MULTIPLE TIMES ASKING DEPUTIES TO BRING HIM ICE CREAM & LIQUOR April 28, 2020, 9:55 am8.8KViews 196Votes [CHARLOTTE COUNTY] – A Florida Man was arrested after calling 9-1-1 multiple times, requesting deputies to deliver him alcohol and ice cream. Deputies responded to the call last Saturday from 65-year old Micheal Gables. When authorities arrived at Gable’s Punta Gorda apartment, he requested they take the $20 bill he had placed on the couch, and bring him some liquor. Deputies then explained to the Florida Man that liquor delivery was not deemed an emergency, and if he made such a call again he would be arrested on charges of misusing 9-1-1. He told deputies he understood. The following day, Gables called 9-1-1 and once again had deputies dispatched to his apartment. This time, he requested the deputies take to bring him his ice cream that was in his freezer, stating he was unable to get out of his recliner. He was arrested for the misuse of 9-1-1.
National Review: Can DeSantis Win the Evangelical Vote? White evangelicalism enters DeSantis season The Christian right turns to Florida’s governor to accomplish what Donald Trump never could.
Trump is crass. DeSantis is equally as dangerous as he will pander anti-democracy rhetoric. He will do show arrests towards people who were told they were legally allowed to vote by his government just to make a political point. He'll try to use government powers to influence cultural policy of private corporations. He will use meme/YouTube click bait level terminology like "woke$ because it panders to the most reactionary ideological demographic in the country because it gets him votes. I definitely see him as a more dangerous figure because of his often banality and traditional style in his speech mannerisms that doesn't immediately give off red flags by merely saying a few sentences out loud like Trump. DeSantis has just enough of that thin veneer of traditional style politics that it will make those who don't care or pay attention feel comfortable with him
Congratulations to Gov DeSantis - first Putin adopts your Don't Say Gay Law, now its architect is specially recognized by the United States Attorney's Office for his contributions during the pandemic Big week for DeSanTrain. Congratulations to all who celebrate @AroundTheWorld
1) I have no idea who this guy is but if it makes you feel like you personally achieved something @SamFisher by posting the news of this guy getting indicted, then I am happy for you. People who have nothing else in life to be proud of should be allowed their little vicarious victories. 2) The law doesn't say "Don't say gay".
I think everyone here already knows point 2 and understand that is the ideological purpose of the bill. And I guess people like pointing out that the type of people pushing the bill are nothing but panderers and grifters.
What's up with all the sexual predators in DeSantis' circle? Ron, who claims to be some Godly Christian sure has some creepy compadres. They say birds of a feather flock together.
