Why can't Yao just play like "somebody just body slam his a**" mad every gameeee

he needs to show the aggressiveness/anger during games

Amen to that! He would be great at the 4 for us. I haven't seen the play yet so am not defending Collison on this play, and Yao is my favorite player in the league.

However, I followed Collison for 4 years as a Jayhawk fan, I can say from those 4 years that he and Hinrich are both classy players.

He may have gotten frustrated and committed a flagrant foul, but TMAC obviously acted appropriately and Yao responded the right way.

He should be fined, suspended, whatever, but it would be ignorant to label Collison a dirty player based on one play.

He is a dirty player. no doubt about it if you watch the replay. He throwed yao onto the ground with force (you only do that when you have the intention of hurting the player). If thats not dirty then are simply ignorant or have no experience at all with it.

When I'm wrestling in any tournament during my high school years, no one ever throw/slam their opponent, but hold onto them with while they take them down, thus dramatically reduce any instant impact that can severely dmg the guy. (and that when we have a matt! just imagine when is hard wooden floor!)

It doesn''t matter how you look at it, he should be suspended. We were very lucky yao didn't suffer any major injuries, but if he did, I would wonder what some of you would think otherwise....

Was at the game live and that foul was BS. I watched the replay again on TV but unfortunately, the camera angle cuts off a bit and you don't see Collison's full grab on Yao.

That was a *!@&*# judo takedown by Collison! Wouldn't be as bad if it was done on a Judo mat to absorb the impact, but it's a 7"6 guy weighing 300 pounds hitting a hard wooden floor. And Yao was in serious pain upon hitting the ground ... was worried that he broke/sprained his arm but luckily, it wasn't serious.

If the NBA seriously wants to crack down on fighting after the Ron Artest vs. Ben Wallace incident, they gotta suspend Collison for that. I can only think outright flipping a guy or close lining him would cause more injury that what Collison did.

I hope Scottie Pippen is #1

"Hey, Scottie, you just won the NBA championship. Why the long face?"

It just make you wonder why people do stupid thing like that. But I'm glad no one got hurt in this incident. David Stern is a dumb ass, he need to open both of his eyes!

Man, how is that not a Judo takedown? Unfortunately, the camera angle is lost for a split second during the pulldown. Being at the game live, I can tell you Collison did not let go the entire time (when the camera angle is lost for that split second) and it was IMO, intent to injure.

^ That video has different ngles than they showed on the Houston FSN feed. The part that pisses me off even more is after T-mac shoves Collison, Collison cusses back at T-Mac with a smirk on his face, then looks down at Yao writhing in pain and smirks some more. Man it would have been nice if someone would've wiped that ridiculous smirk off his face. How that does not deserve a suspension is beyond me.

ok, watched again, so he didn't look down at yao, he was looking at the official. but still, he smirked after cussing out t-mac, he looked pretty proud of what he had done.

oh give me a BREAK collison did what any other player wouldve done to draw a foul on YAO it was a good hard foul. in case u didnt notice Yao is 7'6 300 something when you commit a foul the first thing you learn is to not let the player take a clear shot. it was a good hard foul Yao just made it worse than it looks because he's so tall and falls harder.

He didn't go for the ball, he used his off hand to pull Yao down... it was excessive. You don't tackle in basketball.

^u serious? what about the hard foul ron-ron put on ben wallace to start the palace brawl?

ot the hard foul that mardy collins put on j.r. smith to start the nuggets-knicks brawl?

that stuff has no place in the game. especially with yao being a huge piece to our upcoming playoff run. what if he dislocates his shoulder on that play? totally unnecessary foul. it might be okay at the local Y, or in the streets, but this is the NBA. we're trying to win a championship here.

    whatever dude.

Wasn't it this same clown that busted Tmac's nose last season? Remember the face mask that Tmac had for a while? Same punk, if I remember right.

haha, you don't throw the guy onto the ground to draw a foul! Even a 10 year old can see that. If that is just a hard foul, then we can just sent out our scrub to take out the other team's starter every game. Like I said, yao was only "lucky" that he didn't suffer any major injuries on that fall.

It would be a hard foul if he had attempted to block the shot and HOLD onto yao instead of throwing the guy down to a hardwood floor with both hand.

it's kinda hard to reach for the ball when someone 7'6 is about to throw it down. collison grabbed his arms because thats the only thing he could do to prevent a sure basket. every basketball player learns this.
