He's a great coach and I would be sad seeing him leave. After the JVG fiasco he came in and brought in some pace and attractiveness to the game of basketball. He makes everyone work hard and earn their spot. Thats what it is about, hard work and winning games. The only thing I don't like about him is how he calls timeouts. He let's the game flow even tho it needs a break at a crucial point.

Someone didn't realize there are TWO teams in Northern California and Adelman coached for BOTH of them. And now they both suck and can't find a decent coach.
That was the Warriors. They did well on Nelly's first stint with Run DMC. Then Nelly couldn't work with Webber so the genious Warrior management traded Webber to Washington and fired Nelly. Adelman got a team of losers to actually play well, although not great. It's what Adelman does. Get the most that is possible out of his players.
Why bring up Golden State? Those are the only two years in his career that Adelman coached a sub .500 team for a full season. (36-46, 30-52)
Congrats Mr. Adelman. Please consider coming back for many more years of coaching the Rockets. Mr. Alexander, please make sure to re sign your current coach. He is one of the best ever and it would haunt you for a long time if you let him go next year.
i am pretty sure adelman's stint with Golden State was his worst amongst any team he coached i dont know the stats right now but in the 2-3 seasons here he posted a sub 500 record i believe and also drove out tim hardaway but that was so long ago golden state actually did build itself back up a few years ago but then crumbled again with a series is terrible management decisions. sacramento on the other hand took a huge nose dive after adelman left. injuries of course played a role in that either way the rockets have been lucky to have some very good coaches recently from rudy t, to jvg to adelman now and i dont see anyone out there that could possibly replace rick in terms of coaching ability that is available. last year i was hoping the rockets would bring back thibideau as an asst and give him the head coaching gig when rick left this summer but the bulls got to him first.
