Thanks. I was curious about this while we were losing to the Broncos. Although I must admit it's shocking that our SOS would be lower than a team from the NFC.

Honestly, do you think that this team is more likely to win close games or lose them? Based off of this season's body of work, those two wins are an exception. Only a fool would argue that this team as of THIS season was capable of winning 10 games.

OP...we need to lose next week. The Texans arent winning next week. The Titans were p.ssed at how things ended here in Houston, and I look for them to crush us in Nashville.

Have faith, the Texans will get the 1st pick...and most likely will have zero clue in regards to what to do with it!

Historical NFL data(and data from basically all sports) support the claim that close games are generally coin flips. If you want some actual examples, the Texans were 5-0 in close games last season. The Panthers were 1-7. Coming into this season, which team would you have put your money on for being a "clutch team"?

If we had 2012-2013 Schaub on this team, with some luck favoring us, definitely could've been a 10-win team.

Im not saying 10 games, but we could have won against Indy, after having that big lead in halftime, same about the cards game.
This team could have won 4-5 games.

Jake Matthews, the safe bet. Look how quickly Chiefs first overall helped out.

Get a QB in the 2nd or 3rd

eric fisher was on the bench until injuries forced him on the field...

anywho.. Jake Matthews is far from a "safe bet". there are major concerns.

This is true, but the Skins have been losing like all year with no incentive either, lol. Sometimes teams just suck relative to their opponents. For example, look at what's going on right now between the no-incentive-to-win Eagles and the every-incentive-to-win Bears.

Means nothing, we were favorites to beat raiders and jags x2. We lost all three. We are underdogs here, so it means we probably win against the titans :(

i don't think you understand odds...

if vegas makes a home team -3... that means vegas does not know who will win.

if the line is home team -7... that means vegas thinks the home team will win..

obviously it doesn't always end up that way, i.e. Texans double digit home favorites (oak & jax) and lost outright... BUT, i'd rather have the line set at Tenn -7, than Tenn -3.

It definitely means something. It means Vegas thinks we're gonna lose. Which generally happens more times than not.

Have you actually paid attention to the Chiefs at all? Eric Fisher has not played well and they were loaded with young talent on defense ready to emerge like Justin Houston, Berry, Tamba Hali and Dontari Poe. Where is the young talent on the Texans outside of Watt? The Texans have let a lot of good talent slip away and have been replaced with crap.

Lol I understand odds bro. Just saying, with our luck, we probably end up winning that Titans game.

We were one 4th and 10 play away from clinching the top pick, damn cowboys. Watch us win next week and lose out on the top pick now.

Doesn't matter. All of the top prospects are flawed. I'd want trade down but I don't think any team is really going to want to move up.

lol. uh, okay. you do know that they've had like 20+ other games to get that aggression and bitterness out, yes? And that not a single person on their roster could give 2 craps?

Since the Cowboys won before the Eagles even played, the Eagles had no chance to clinch the division. The division winner was already going to be determined by the Eagles/Cowboys game next week.

Right, but how does that play into the Eagles desire to win the game? Do you really think the players & coaches thought about that for more than a millisecond?

That's what Kim was arguing in her response to Cannonball. Regardless of a team's incentive to win a game, most of the players will still go all-out and do anything to win, whether or not it matters in terms of clinching a playoff spot.
