Y'all are so funny. Almost as funny as this classic. "I'm not gay, but I surf the available males over at Match.com." riiiiight.
Question: was this game last night for the national championship in basketball? I'll answer for you....NOOOOOOOOOOO So I complained one time about a poorly officiated game involving my team in what happened to be the BIGGEST game of the season and only decided who was to be the NC. You and other Horn fans are complaining about officiating of a freaking regular season basketball game. I hardly find the two situations equitable. Also, never mind the fact that several neutral observers of the Miami-OSU game admitted that there were some bad calls like DaDakota, let's just focus on the resident Miami fan!! What I love is the fact that OSU beat Texas TWICE this season and yet I haven't heard the excuse of why the Horns lost to OSU in Texas. Was it the officiating in that game as well?
I think it's obvious that OSU's a good team and I personally gave them props for beating us in Austin. However, the officiating was poor last night, plain and simple. I would go on, but I don't want to get into it with you again...
For all of the corruption and incidents with the law that you see come out of the UT athletic program, I find it a bit silly for them to be complaining about something as trivial as officiating.
Maybe not you, but for some of us, we do care (albeit infinitesimally) about being Big 12 champion. It's not nearly as important as making it into the final four or even playing in the championship, but it's still something nice to put in the record books. And just for the record, I didn't get to watch the game at home vs OSU, so I can't say anything about it, otherwise I would.
Yeah..... congrats.... jerk-ass cowboys. Btw, I live on the same floor as Royal, Sydmill and James Thomas and they're all genuinely nice funny guys. Most athletes are tards that I've met. One night some asian kid with a wicked bad accent came in the room and asked for Royal's autograph assuming he was a football guy and he signed the back of his shirt Sean Jean. The kid had no clue, I kinda felt bad for him. Hilarious though. Then they had a dance off to Lil' John, because the guy was saying he was a master dancer. Swear to freaking God. Needless to say he lost bigtime, but it was a hilarious night. The kid reminded me of Long Duck Dong from 16 Candles. It was great.
I really don't want to get into a message board argument either, but I'm really anxious for someone to dispute my points. The right call was made on the 10 seconds; no call, there was no violation. If we want to get into timing issues, Klotz and Tucker could have had 5-6 3 seconds each, but it wasn't called all night. Also, teams that are more aggressive going to the hoop will shoot more free throws, that's just how it goes. As I pointed out, there wasn't a big difference in fouls called.
I don't think UT even shot a free throw in the first half, and they were just as aggressive as OSU. The OSU big men were camped out in the lane nearly every time down the court and I don't recall any 3 second violations on them. I disagree about the 10 second call. Show me evidence of that rule and I'll believe you. However, if you jump from the backcourt into the frontcourt and catch the ball before your feet touch the ground, that's a backcourt call, regardless of where the ball is. Going by that logic, you'd have to have your feet over the half-court line in 10 seconds, not just the ball.
On a side note, can someone explain to me the logic behind storming the court after defeating a team that is ranked lower than you? They won the B12 title for the first time in like 40 years...
Yes, and they have always been a good team under Eddie Sutton. I think they have made the NCAA tourney every season except one or two under him. I mean this isn't Texas A&M. OSU has always had a great basketball tradition back to the days that they had Bob Kurland and Henry Iba was their coach (who for years was in the top 5 of all-time in coaching victories). Yet, I get the impression from some that OSU is regarded as some kind of scrub program...that is simply not true.
The Cowboys won the B12 title in 94-95 season and went on to the final 4. Odd... not according to the announcers yesterday. They said it was their first title since the 1950s or 1960's (not sure the exact date).
Umm.... did not the Southwest Conference still exist in the 1994-1995 season? Are you thinking of a Big 8 title?
