[congrats] McGrady and Yao named all-NBA second team

It turns out that the point difference between Amare's votes and Yao's votes was closer than it was announced. Initially, Amare got 494 (36), 36 voted him into 1st team, Yao got 333 (38). The point differential was 161, tom.com said someone questioned the result and turns out someone in NBA needs to re-take their 3rd grade math class. Here are the revised results:

Amare Stoudemire 351 (36)
Yao Ming 333 (38)
Point differential: 18 (close call IMHO)

It's really nothing big deal, just thought some of you may want to know.

 

Hope they can do a recount. More mistakes are bound to be found.

 

I don't understand why so many people are upset. Sure, I would rate Yao over Amare but Yao is still in an elite selection of players. He is with Gilbert, LeBron, Bosh, and TMac in the All-NBA Second Team.

 

I've been watching the whole S.A. and Suns series and I don't understand how fcker got All-NBA, everybody wants to trash Yao for not doing so great against Boozer or coming through in the clutch. But, Amare has been almost non-existent the entire series, either he's been in foul trouble, not rebounding, or getting dominate by Duncan.

But, nobody puts the spotlight on his below average performances. He's not as great as everyone say he is. How is he that much better than Yao.

 

He is destroying duncan now. he is playing awesom in the last quarter...

 

off tje pick and roll, not one-on-one. duncan has to pay attention to nash too.

again, amare is not a guy u can give the ball to and clear out.

 

Points are points my man. he is stepping up..

Btw, The only reason yao is'nt the first team center is because e missed almost half the season due to inury. if yao never got injured, he'll be a walkover starter..

 

but that doesn't make you a better player. marion's 20 ppg in the reg. season is the same as say tmac scoring 20 points per game? hell no.

tmac scores his own points. marion scores off garbage points or off a pass.

amare can't consistently create his own shot => not a true franchise player. he's suited in this system where he's not the creator, but finisher. at least yao can create his own shot.

points are points if u look at stats. but if u do, then u dont know basketball.

yao had 25 and 10 v. the jazz. that's great if u just look at stats. but that's not the case if u saw the damn game.

 

I dont know where you're going with this. i never said amare is superior to yao. i said the only reason amare is 1st team selection is because of yao's injury interupted center. if anything i'm one of yao's biggest defenders on this board.

 

But Amare has Nash who goes in the paint gets double team and passes the ball to Amare for the easy finish. Stoudemire is a great player i know that. but I do not think he will be that good without Nash

 

I think there was a stretch a while back that nash was injured and amare infact had more points and more boards without nash..
