Dodgers-Astros rivalry isn’t unheard of and has some history. https://www.mlb.com/news/dodgers-astros-renew-rivalry-in-world-series-c259332552 https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...d-quite-a-rivalry-as-division-foes/106952598/
Jimmy Kimmel can go **** his overrated ass self. Fallon has always taken a steaming **** on him. 'iS It EasIEr tO wIN a WorLD sErIeS wHen tHe oThER tEaM isN*t cHeATinG?" I bet it's easier to win when when the season is only 60 games long and tons of other teams have injured players.
Evidently, it's easier for Hollywood teams to win world series when their loser fans aren't in the building.
Just realized that the 1981 Dodgers Championship has an asterisk as well... Los Angeles seems to specialize in fake season rings. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1981_National_League_Division_Series The first half and second-half champions in both the National League East and National League West divisions would meet in best-of-five series, with the winners advancing to the NL Championship Series (NLCS). [...] The teams in the 1981 NLDS were: East Division: Philadelphia Phillies (first-half champion, 34–21) vs. Montreal Expos (second-half champion, 30–23): Expos win series, 3–2. West Division: Los Angeles Dodgers (first-half champion, 36–21) vs. Houston Astros (second-half champion, 33–20): Dodgers win series, 3–2. The second-half champions played the first two games at home, with the first-half champions hosting all remaining games; this was predetermined in August, independent of team records.[Had a team won both halves of the season, they would have hosted all games of the series other than the first game, which the wild card team would host. The results of the format were highly controversial, as the Cincinnati Reds failed to qualify for the postseason despite having the best record in baseball (66–42) over the full season;the St. Louis Cardinals, with the NL's second-best record (59–43), were also left out.The Reds had finished the first half of the season just a half-game behind the Dodgers, while the Cardinals finished the second half just a half-game behind the Expos,[4] who were making their first postseason appearance after 13 years of play.
The Dodgers didn't lose 2017 because the Astros cheated. The Dodgers lost because Bellinger, Turner, Puig, and Seager couldn't hit with RISP. And Dave Roberts is their manager. And Darvish couldn't get anyone out. You're Welcome.
They would also be facing Charlie F'ing Morton, 24 straight curveballs, Verlander and definitely not Odorizzi. That's what the yanks and doyers always conveniently leave out.
They didn't face Odorizzi? I know I was just listing some of the great pitching obstacles those 2 teams faced.
Dodgers and their fans know this, and they are insecure AF about it, they are also insecure about their exhibition WS title in 2020. That is why they are still obsessed with 2017 and making excuses to blame an overexaggerated sign stealing scheme (in which they also participated btw) to make themselves feel better. There is an arrogance to it as well, they feel the Astros are beneath them as a franchise, and they are still embarrassed by the loss. That is why they still make a big fuss about 2017 but completely ignore 2018 when the BoSox smoked them, when they were also found to have cheated that season. Part of it is because to them Boston is "worthy" franchise, but also to not look like complete hypocritical morons for trading for and extending Mookie Betts. It's just stupidity and silliness all around.
The league is hoping that the giants can hold off the Dodgers forcing them into a toss up wild card game. That team is stacked and the odds on favorite to win the World Series imo.
