TMac talk too much to the media. What's wrong with "I feel very sore in my knees and I don't think I can play tonight." and just stop right there.

Although what he said after is all true, but it does sound soft on media to the fans.

    T-Mac will sit out tonight
Sore left knee will keep star out of action vs. Pacers

The Rockets' plan to let Tracy McGrady play through the soreness in his left knee was put on hold Wednesday.

Unhappy with his level of play and believing his left knee is too sore to play well, McGrady said Wednesday he will sit out tonight’s game against the Indiana Pacers.

"I’m out tonight," McGrady said. "The knee is a little sore so tonight I’m taking it off.

"It’s not being able to go out and play at a high level tonight because my knee is a lot sorer than normal. It’s being cautious. It’s one game I’m sitting out and looking forward to coming back and playing the next game.

"It’s all about being able to go out there and contribute and help my team win ballgames. I don’t think I can be effective going out there tonight the way I feel so I’m going to take the route of not playing. I believe in my team that they can go out and win."

Though he said he thinks he will play Saturday against the San Antonio Spurs, McGrady said he will have to determine his availability before each game.

"At this point, yeah," McGrady said when asked if it will be a daily decision. "There is a little discomfort in my knee. It’s one of these days it’s really sore and I’m taking the night off. It’s still early. I’d rather be healthy later on in the season when we’re making a playoff push.

"Right now, it’s not trying to be Superman and try to save the team. I just have to be smart about it for me personally and my future and also what’s best for this team.

"The good thing about it is I can’t hurt anything. I can’t damage it. That’s a nice thing. I can’t make it worse."

Rockets forward Shane Battier is expected to make his season debut tonight.

It's okay, we will win tonight. At this point I am not counting too much and TMac. As long as he can be 100% by Feb. I am fine with that.

I think it's definitely a good rest for Tmac tonight because they don't play the next game until several days later.

the way he comes off might in terms of what he says.

but in reality, he plays through injuries more than most players in this L if you look at it.

No doubt T-Mac's got some 'gina in him, but I am pretty impressed the way Adelman is spreading minutes. Last game there were like 7 guys around 30 minutes. He even got a bunch out of Barry. This will pay dividends down the road, assuming 'ginas can turn hard at will.

U know what scares was reading that article how DWade said he "felt Tmac's pain". I remember how bad Dwade looked last yr and he never at any point of the yr looked better. He needed a full 5 months rest until he regained his leg strength. I really hope that Tmac 08-09 does not become Wade's 07-08 !

TMac needs to rest. I hope SF3 would have some good news in regards to getting healthy enough to play like Shane.

I just thought I'd let you know that your signature has an incorrect quote. Churchill never said the quote you have attributed to him according The Churchill Centre.

    That's him and his realism.

I'd rather expect the worst, be proven wrong, then be happy rather than expect the best, then to lose and be sad. :)
