I guess Tracy's new slogan is something like: "I've done it all in the regular season; Scoring titles, All Star games and 55 win seasons but legends are measured in the playoffs so that's when I'll come to play." I could go into a slew of cliches but I don't have to because we have all heard them. I can't believe McGrady is taking time off when all things indicate that he needs to play to get back to full strength. I wonder how the Pacers players will feel when they find out Tmac is taking the night off against them and he isn't even injured.
I think it's ok that we have T-mac rest a few games, only if we are not opposing to the elites, IMO. If possible, I would like every one to rest some games. Apparently, I m daydreaming.
Hey BB, you're one of my favorite posters here, but I think you got the reactions wrong. We can't this a rockets cheerleader site because 80% of the population hate a player on the team...with a lot hating on Tmac, Yao Ming or even both (makes me wonder why they see themselves to be rockets fans lol). Considering that we have multiple trade x player threads and fire Y coach every single day I don't know how you got the impression that this site is full of "glass is full" type of people....if you ask me the ratio is 85% debbie downers/chicken littles and 15% happy people. Rather than saying that the Rox rock, what most people were saying was that the Pacers stink, which is why it was ok for Tmac to sit (I agree btw, we have Artest to handle Granger). Unless you are posting in a forum that deals with heavy issues (like cancer or the financial crisis or whatever) I don't think you can assume that all the posters will be mature, web-based addresses or not. Besides, you don't have to be mature to contribute positively to the forum; a lot of the good posters here are members of the Red Rowdies, and I don't think wearing face paint and shouting your lungs out at Rox games is a very mature thing to do. Not only that, how boring would this forum be without people like Albert Einstain?
Fair enough about the makeup of this board. As far as the Pacers go, they are more than just Granger. I think a lot of people will be surprised tomorrow, even with them playing the tail end of a back-to-back. They have plenty of length and can get up and down the court. It likely won't be a walkover. Anything can happen but my guess is if the Rockets win, it will be a close game.
i agree with brooksball. the pacers are going to be a tough game. however, even with tmac out we still have more talent, and will still be favored. now that doesn't win games, so our guys have to believe that they MUST come to play otherwise it's going to be an upset. big picture: good time for tmac to take a rest. he will never be "healthy" as far as nba basketball goes, so lets thank him for helping us through a tough early schedule. if he comes back for the spurs and nuggets this weekend, he should be able to take the following 6 games off (clippers and warriors twice each, grizzlies, hawks).
So we have 5 pages of discussion, and not even one word of proof? Where is chronicles on this, the game is tomorrow!
I really don't get it I thought the doctors said it will only get better by him playing on it, and now hes sitting out whats going on. I know we can win some games without him, but on any giving night any team can beat any team. I agree with what BB what was saying just becasue the Pacers are 5-7 doen't mean they will come out and play like it. We can't over look them they are still an NBA team. If we lose this game I'm going to blame Tracy becasue he thought he could sit out and we would still win. Something tells me that if we were playing a better team he would play, well if you ask me he should treat every team the same and get out there on the floor.
Agreed. It's early in the season but we all know how important each game is when it comes to getting into and getting homecourt advantage in the playoffs. *IF* Tmac is resting and not injured (which appears to be the case) *IF* The Rockets lose tomorrow (a lot more likely than many of you admit) *IF* The Rockets miss out on homecourt by 1 game What will people think of him resting then?
If the doctors had said he needs to rest than I would be all for it. But this looks like its all up to him and hes doing this on his own becasue he feels like we can beat the Pacers without him, and I don't like that kind of attuide.
maybe battier can take his duke comrade out to drink wine again, like he did last year the night before the game. =) I think we know from last year the unconventional style that Indiana plays. Yao will not have it easy.
Yao told reporter that the Pacer are not easy to deal with. He still remember his NBA virgin show which was with Pacer, 0 point and 2 boards.
Heh, as I read through threads, I don't usually look at the names of who posts, just read the contents. When I got to the post regarding "Pacers are not a walk in the park" followed by some evidence why they might be a upset waiting to happen, I thought, "Wow, that is insightful and helpful. Hopefully the Rockets themselves will be prepared and not underestimate their next match ..." Then the soap opera commences ... BrooksBall, I'm writing this to let you know just keep doing what you're doing. Among all the inane posts about "you're not a true fan if ..." and reactionary things after losses (heh, that goes with the territory), it posts like the one you made, that kind of content that keep ClutchFans interesting and valuable as a fan. It's good to grow a thicker skin and ignore stupid comments .
It seemed that nobody knew the Pacers beat the Celtics at 95-79 early this season. And today they beat the Mavs at Dallas......
hmm lets see, no tmac, playing the freaking pacers, i could think of 100 other more exciting things to do than watching this game, but i still gonna watch it anyway (if theres a link)
Danny Granger is a pretty exciting guy to watch. If McGrady thinks this will help, then let him sit. People might be jumping on his commitment issues, but how many times have the team doctors told him he could play, only to make his condition worse? McGrady knows how injured he is, he's not gonna sit because he's been sucking -- I think he'd go all out at that point. He doesn't look like the same player this season, so give him some time off. And, if anything, Wade sympathizes, and if he comes back like Wade has. . . then we'll dominate the league.
I'm no Pacers fan but I was unhappy when they lost 109-106 against the Mavs. Let's hope our guys can pull out a win against the Pacers too.
