craps is best game at the casino, it's really fun. trying to move up from the MGM to the Aria now. play craps for 30 minutes and you'll easily figure out the game. it looks complicated because of all the bets but it's really simple.

C'mon man. Congrats if you are one of the ridiculously tiny minority who can gamble for a living and not lose.

But, when someone is coming to ClutchFans with a increasing gambling problem that is hurting their life. You just need to win your money back is probably the LAST advice they need to hear.

I have a relative who lost a high six figure inheritance gambling, mostly playing poker. She didn't quit until she had gone through all her savings, everything she was going to leave for her kids, and is lucky to have kept her house. This is someone who was in her 70's when she hit rock bottom and instead of having a very comfortable life to look forward to, she's working at a department store... in her 80's.

Give it up. Get help. It can get worse. I know people who have no problem gambling, knowing when to quit, but for some it becomes a sickness. Don't let it take you down.

where are you gambling at? I hope you get some decent comps.

You need to limit yourself when you go and test your self control. leave the table when it gets cold, go see a show, get a nice meal, go to a club, enjoy the spa.

also have a buddy there to tell you when to leave the table. sometimes you get caught up in the action.

like Janet Jackson said Control. I don't expect you to quit cold turkey, but if you limit yourself and enjoy the game with friends, you'll save more money and have more fun.

the part you don't get is that there's a filter missing when it's an addiction. He might be good at certain games.. but even if you're good, the key is knowing when to walk. Whether it's due to the game, your mindset, your physical status (needing sleep or food or something?), or whatever else.. clearly you generally have an idea when to chill out for a bit. OTOH, someone with an addiction will just keep playing.. or if they know to get up, they'll go play something else anyway. Or they'll try new games they don't know.

It's not always about "improving your game".. I don't think you get what's going on here.

If you get a chance. Watch the episode of Intervention Season 1 episode 2. There's a guy in there named Gabe. After watching it, hopefully it will cure your gambling addiction.

: Former child prodigy Gabe’s gambling addiction literally drives his parents out of their home; they have to sell the house to pay for his debts.

I know you're not at this point, but he started small and it eventually got up this big.

I have been trying to look for this episode online but can't find it. I remember wanting to punch my TV because the guy was so annoying.

when I used to gamble way too much online..I missed out on a ton of comps by NOT doing it at a casino

But then again, online gambling removes you 1 step further from money, so maybe I never would have put that much down in person. At the casino, it's a $100 chip instead of a $100 bill. Online, it's an image of a chip instead of a chip instead of a bill. Sooooo much easier to click than to move a stack of those chips!

to the o.p... at the very least, delete all online accounts for blackjack/craps/any casino games. They're bigger killers than anything from my experience..

I don't do the online gambling, just not the same as gambling on vacation with people around you.

I like it when the dealer pays you, the people cheer, the comps etc.
maybe I'm more addicted to that.

Gambling is like everything else, it's always best in moderation.
Prime Rib is good, but you can't eat that everyday.

What I think addicts have problems with is moderation. I think the OP needs to plan other things on his trip besides gambling. and he needs to know methods of when to quit when he's ahead or when to call time out when he's losing.

City Center FTW! This is where I want to stay next time I visit but it could ultimately come down to the best deal. Trump had some great deals the last time I checked.

I'm planning to meet up YoYo this summer. Rockets, partying, & gambling!

don't forget to buzz Kwame, he's a vegas clutchfan, he knows all the vip spots!

I know this a stupid roulette strategy, but it has worked for me when i was playing roulette.

I look for tables with the Rockets numbers and gamble there. you know.

so there is a theory that certain tables that have bias wheels.
this is due to age of the wheels, most casinos swap out wheels after a certain amount of time and play because of this.

so if you see a certain set of numbers popping up all the time, it could be due to age and wear and tear of the wheel causing it be slightly off axis.

Jesus, to the people in this thread giving advice like "you need to learn how to play better," "you need to get up when the table goes cold," and "just do it in moderation..."

    ARE YOU F'N STUPID?

The guy says he has a serious addiction and your advice is "just do it in moderation"?!??!?!?

"Hey guys, I'm an alcoholic, I can't stop drinking! HELP ME!"

"Oh, you should just buy a six pack of beer instead of a case. That should help everything."

"Well, if you go out, just make sure to stop at three beers!"

"Well, instead of drinking Heaven Hill vodka, make sure to buy some Ketel One!"

You guys that continue to extol the virtues of gambling are really decreasing the odds that kyakko can beat this thing.

I got money riding on this, so ixnay on the amblingay alktay.

    Stop playing spreads outright.

Play more teasers... or sweetheart teasers. You'll win more often, but not as much.

Do more homework, don't be a degenerate and lay down on everything... be selective grasshopper.

    Or...

Just quit. You can do it, I've known many people in the same boat and just quit... for awhile. A long time... go a couple months... wait until April, cause April will have baseball games and basketball games... that way you could be more selective. Don't play prop bets, props are for suckers.

But seriously... if you're having money problems, put your priorities first. And then sporadically go to your pleasures/hobbies/sports/fantasy/gambling/TV/whatever it is you do.

    Good luck.

Look dude, you can't make a guy who eats steak go vegetarian quickly.
    make him eat chicken
    then fish
then he can go to portabello mushrooms

If you feel embarassed about telling people your gambling problems you are never going to get help.

The first step to get help is to admit to yourself that you do indeed have a problem. And often that's the most important step.
