I had no doubts that the Astros would win the series. They dominated STL in every game, but had a couple of unfortunate breaks. The series should have been over much sooner.
I am still in a bit of a daze from game five. Having attended the game five loss against the Phillies in 1980 (up by three in the eight with Nolan Ryan on the mound! Noooo!), I was really devastated by the loss and prepared myself for another chapter in heartbreaking playoff collapses. After tossing and turning with nightmares of Pujols that first night I felt better and started thinking that if anybody could pull it out it was that hardass Oswalt. I had my doubts, though. Thank God for badass pitching!
I had no doubts in Roy Oswalt's ability to chew the Cardinals up. I was very confident. After the Pujols at-bat in the first inning I was 100% sure we were winning the game. The only way I would've been more confident was if somehow Jorge Sosa was starting for us. After all, he was Roy's equal - maybe even better.
