LOL, Donovan lover?!?! I'm a Donovan hater j/k!!! As a Mexico fan I'm glad JK gave him (Mexico killer) early retirement. But I also support the USA/CONCACAF (when not playing Mexico ) and you can't tell me a Donovan didn't deserve a WC roster spot. JK's a petulant, eurosnob, mls hating, hypocrite. He pushed several older USA players out of the NT over the last few years but now he's desperate and will probably field a team with half of the starters at or over 30. Like I said, a major hypocrite. Overall USA has some young talent coming up but the problem is the transition from the very successful proven vets to the young talents while not sacrificing success/progress. It can be done but I would not want a guy like JK running that project.
DrLudicrous, what was personal about leaving him off the team? He was out of shape, man. Now Donovan just sounds sour about that in all his responses about the coaching job Klinsmann has done. Even with the "fair distribution", there will be lots more and even louder Mexicans. See you there.
Even in his prime Donovan seemed like a dick. I will admit there is some humor in there, like the latest commercial, and at times in interviews. He will say anything, and that is good entertainment, but oft times you are left with did he really just say that. Even when he talks about his wife, it's like a total "ugh" sometimes. I think his attitude hurt the team. I think Klinsman saw that right away and could care less about his fitness. He comes across as a dick. I respect that he's bitter. Most of us would be. And I give him some credit for being somewhat honest about it, but it still comes across as irritating to fans of the team and game.
Sometimes GREAT players are Aloof, Donovan is by far the best the USA has ever produced leaving him off the WC squad was flat out ****ING stupid. Same thing is going down with Howard, who is LIGHT years ahead of Guzan... Just play the best players Jurgen, this is NOT about you, it is about the USA. DD

Don't get me wrong .. it was fair the last time, but none were held for either team like it was this time and Mexicans bought them all up fast. In fact it was probably more "fair" the last time No doubt there will be more Mexicans. I'm just hoping for at least 20% US fans which would be marked improvement over the last time! Can't wait for the match!
