Stop making this is a black and white issue.

Trump is likely at or below average IQ. Nothing wrong with that. We certainly have had Presidents this "mid" before.

Trump is profoundly ignorant and incurious. He thinks that he is the smartest man in the room, while that is likely not the case. This may have led Trump to believe that he understands business, macro/micro economics, climate science, etc, when he does not.

There are things that Trump is "educated" about, mostly centered on what bullies can get away with on a middle school playground. Trump understands power in that regards. What can power allow Trump to get away with? Does a rich person really need to pay his fair share in taxes? Does a builder need to pay his subcontractors when they do not have the power to make him?

And finally Trump does have a super power. He is a world class salesman. He can convince people that he is a super genius business person, even though he has been in bankruptcy court six times. He can convince people that just by using his name and sales skills that Trump licensed products are a good business bet, while the past is littered with examples of the opposite: Trump Water/Vodka/Steak/Watches/Meme Coins/Truth Social etc. He can convince banks to loan him money for projects, while he is decidedly a bad bet to make repayment.

The combination of using raw power and profound ignorance lead to this book ... Everything Trump Touches Dies | Book by Rick Wilson

I don't think that Trump has an average or below average IQ - I think Trump knows very well what does and does not sell. I also don't think Trump really believes most of what he says, as it seems to conveniently line up with some other point that benefits him personally.

Trump only cares about what Trump wants and will do anything to get what he wants.

While I agree with the content of what you posted, none of that shows a low IQ or that he is or has been a visionary. We don't have to like or think Trump cares for the greater good to conclude that he is exceptional at getting what he wants.
