He's sadly got a bit of a point.

We live in a world where Larry the Cable Guy and 2 and a Half Men are staples of "comedy"

I've searched online but I haven't been able to find how Conan's ratings compared to Letterman's. He may have not been beating Letterman, but I'm sure he can get higher ratings then Kimmel and Falin so there should be a spot for him somewhere on late night.

The big winner in this is obviously Letterman. I used to be able to watch Leno depending on what guest he had, but after the way this was handled I will never watch him again. Leno's ratings will never be the same and Letterman will dominate the time slot imo.

I've been boycotting NBC for years. I truly think those top executives at NBC are a bunch of morons. They are doing everything they can do to run A Once Proud Network to ground. Conan is the only show on NBC I watch. If he leaves, good for me, so that I can leave that sorry ass network once and for all!

I kind of hope Conan goes back to Fox. Former head writer for the Simpsons and SNL, Hasty Pudding alum, I could see him leveraging this into a producer-executive role: filling every empty time-slot they have with some kind of decent comedic writers and programming, once AI and reality TV as a whole lose their luster and Fox has to go back to number 4. Granted, his current ratings will certainly factor into any real stature or bargaining power he has with other networks. This could be fun and interesting. Does anyone start calling Jon Stewart yet?

My father is 71 and almost always would watch Leno's monologue and the headlines, etc. Not all seniors are asleep by then. :p

My father has not even ONCE watched Leno in prime time. He also will not watch Leno when he returns to late night.

There is something special about "The Tonight Show." People would watch the news and then the Tonight Show. It is just what they did. NBC is screwing it up and Conan referenced that in his letter.

They are not making the changes until after the Olympics. I would imagine Conan will be there until then.

He might stay on until the Olympics. But then again, if NBC is forcing him out, why stick around and accommodate them.

If we are to take TMZ's surprising credibility of recent for what its worth, Conan is gone from NBC and will end up on Fox.
