ALT + F4 gives you the highlights from the last Rockets game.

But seriously, here is a cool link to some html codes that are cool, not really shortcuts per se, but cool stuff (the whole tutorial is cool).HTML cool stuff

Another good one for getting rid of Explorer windows FAST when you're not supposed to be looking at them...

    ALT + F4

It terminates the active window, so just keep pressing it as many times as you need to and it will eventually close them all. It will also close any other windows you have running though (ie. AIM buddy list, AIM chat window, Winamp, etc.) so be careful with it if you don't want to close EVERYTHING.

Hmm...what are the chances that we would both post ALT + F4 at exactly the same time? I must be misinformed because I could have sworn it closed windows... :p

oh man i did not know pushing C would pause a winamp song. alot of times i'll be listening to a song during commercial and when the show comes back on i'll miss the first few seconds trying to get my mouse to the pause button. this is excellent.

since my research has had me doing many repetitive things the last few months, i have perfected a few shortcuts for the simulator i run.

Alt+E and then C and then A opens up the graph selecting option.

Alt+X and then D exports it to excel.

and then the old standby's of ctrl c and ctrl v to copy and paste the data into another sheet.

End, Home while holding Shift to highlight a big block of cells.

then Alt+E and then A, Delete, Ctrl V to delete one file and copy in anther one.

not that any of you can use these, but just a little fyi. so many commands i picked up after getting tired of mouse clicking so many things. i can fly through the shortcut commands like crazy and it saves so much time. it must look weird from the outside to just see random bursts of attacking the keyboard every few minutes. but alas, most of that work is behind me so the shortcuts are mostly useless at this point.

:) Sweet. This is what I had in mind. Did anyone try the Word shortcuts I gave?

    More WORD
CTRL+ALT+1 : turns the current paragraph into Header 1
CTRL+ALT+2 : turns the current paragraph into Header 2
CTRL+2 : turns current paragraph formatting to DOUBLE-SPACED (return to single space with CTRL+1)
CTRL+[shift]* : toggles hide/show paragraph marks (useful to see where sections start or end, etc.)
    CTRL+ALT+F : Footnote 1, etc.
CTRL+shift+C : format painter to paste format styles
CTRL+[ : decrease font size, just like in FireFox... ;) Word was first
    CTRL+] : increase font size
CTRL+', then [vowel] : accented version of the letter (á, é, etc.)
    CTRL+~, then [u,n] : tilde'd version of the letter (useful for Ñ, ñ... etc.)
CTRL+:, then [vowel] : dieresis version of the letter (useful for German ü, etc.)
CTRL+ALT+S : selects styles dropdown, allows to switch styles
CTRL+Shift+F : selects font dropdown, allows to change font on the fly

    Outlook
    ALT+s : sends the message you're typing
Ctrl+R : reply to current message
    Ctrl+shift+R : reply-to-all <-easy way to embarrass your friends... ;)
    CTRL+F : forward current message
    CTRL+N : new message
    CTRL+shift+N : new note
Shift+Delete : delete permanently? prompts: "Are you sure you want to permanently delete the selected item(s)?"

    Firefox:
    CTRL+T : new tab
    CTRL+U : view the source

    Firefox and IE:
    CTRL+N : new browser window
    F11 : FULL SCREEN toggle

    Windows:
    CTRL+ESC : windows' Start menu
Esc: cancel dialog boxes, prompts, same as clicking the "x" on dialog boxes or pressing the "Cancel" button

    explorer or folder windows:
SHIFT+arrow [up or down]: select files
After file is selected, hold Ctrl down and move with arrows, select non-adjacent documents or files with the [Space bar].

    Most Windows-compatible programs:
CTRL+F4 : closes current document within the multi-document window
CTRL+S : saves the current file
F12 : brings up the Save As... dialog box for new location or name
SHIFT+F10 : the Context Menu or "right-click" alternative" (useful when you've los mouse connectivity and to STEAL images ;) )

I didn't want to do the obvious ones like cut and paste, bold, etc.
    Good ones, everyone.

    david_rocket, ¿te gusta? :D

I said I wouldn't post MOUSE-related shortcuts... but I can... do you want to see some?

Create a shortcut key to launch any application:

For example, let's do Calculator ....

    Click Start - > Programs -> Accessories

then right-click Calculator. From the menu that appears, click on "properties"

There will be a field there named "Shortcut key". Click in that field.

Now, on your keyboard, hold down shift, alt, control, and press C.

Click OK and you can now launch Calculator from windows with Shift-alt-ctrl-C.

You can do this with any application in Windows, and you can use different key combinations (you don't have to use shift-alt-ctrl).

Shift/Del works with any files in Windows to "permanently" delete a file and not send it to the Recycle Bin, but nothing is ever totaly deleted from windows..

    ALT+L

    and

ALT+W do the same things, and I find them easier cause the alt is a good thumb button on most keyboards.

ctrl+shift+escape brings up the windows task manager, which is handy if you want to kill hung applications or process.

I love editing using emacs or vi. :D There short cuts or commands are everything. Pre-microsoft days, some programs had some 400 commands combinations.
