WOW! I'm blown away by everyone's helpful responses. We went over to my brothers for the evening and we just got home a little while ago. I let him do the tutorial on Alice and he just came and thanked me for getting it for him and that he thinks it's really cool. By the way, I hope that I didn't give the wrong impression that I'm making him learn how to program this summer. I was just hoping that with the right software he might take up an interest on his own if I just introduce him. It's funny that when I was about his age, I was really into skateboarding so I made the most ridiculous skateboarding game in BASIC. It took me months to finish it and I would sometimes spend hours at night typing each super long line of DRAW commands. I would give $1000 if I could get the floppy disk that was saved on. I'm about to go to bed but tomorrow I'm going to look into some more of the suggestions given. Also, I live in Austin so it's pretty hard to drop him off at Rice. Maybe there is a program here at UT if he finds a true interest in the subject.
I'd love to pass this site on to him. It's too bad that I can't get him to watch a whole game with me. He'll do it if it lets him stay up late (of course I'll let him stay up until he quits paying attention).
