Why don't you just add a password to your windows log in... so that way you don't need a computer code.... I don't know.. I think personally it's much easier.
Any VNC client will work for what you want to do. I have UltraVNC installed on my parents computer. It takes less than 5 minutes to install. If you have a router you have to add port 5900 to port forwarding. Cant get any easier.
Could I do something similar with a person from another country? Fiancee's family is from Canada and they always call my house to try and fix their computer. Her family still uses Limewire and don't know the difference between a site with adware and ones that are safe. I've given them good AV software and ad blockers and still the same stuff. It's hard to trouble shoot over the phone so if its possible for me to just logon their computer and do it for them that would be the best route possible.
Yep... you can do this anywhere in the world.. as long as there is internet connected on both computers.
Quick question with LOGMeIn: I just install LogMeIn on my computer ... download the Iphone app and it works! but when i went to my dad's computer and try to install LogMeIn is asking me for email address and pw again ..... So I cant use my same email add I used for my computer? I wanted where when I log into my LogMeIn account with my email address, I can see all the computers I want to access (that seems like what they did in the demo) But, if I have to use a diff email/pw for every computer, lets say another friend, I'll have to sign up with another email add? Is there a way I can get it all together into my account?
You can use the same email.. just log in to the same one you did on your computer... and then top right click add computer.. easy as pie.
For what you're using it for, you can try something like this that's built into XP, too : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/300546
You'd have to have Windows Messenger for that, I believe. That is also limited to what you can do.. and also is much slower.
