I use power producer to burn AVI, or MPEG to DVD. It can let you merge two files together, or split single file. But when the file is wide screen, the software will stretch it to full screen even if it's out of proportion.

DVD Shrink is the best software out there for backing up DVDs. It's 10000 times better than DVDXCopy Platinum, and it is free.

    TMPGenc.....MPEG Tools....merge

TMPEGenc is the what I use for conversion, mergind...and so on...

merging avi files is a difficult proposition...avi files are normally used for end used viewing...it is difficult to do any processing, editing and so on withthem...

R2K, I've been meaning to get back to you. Thanks for the advice! I got rid of the MS beta, and turned off the MS firewall, realizing I had that on along with the Road Runner one (duh! stupid me), and things are working much better. I still need to buy a good suite from Norton, or the like, to replace the RR stuff, but your advice really helped.

    Thanks again! :)
