We're looking to buy just a simple computer because our old one is dying. Is $449 for a Lenovo with 1TB of hard drive 4GB ram and a 2.8Ghz processor too good of a deal? Did I miss something large?
Then I suppose it's just a really good deal -- if you were buying it from a guy under a bridge then it would be a different story. Is it a refurb ?
No, it's really crazy. The special deal site starts off w/ poopier models (way crappier) and then jumps up to this. I'm guessing it's an error. http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/...US/Landing_pages/Lenovo_3000_desktops/HSeries
Seems like a deal to jump on if you are looking for a cheap computer for basic surfing/ etc. -- maybe both of us are missing something now..?
It's cheap because the "video card" is integrated/memory-shared, I think. If you're not looking to play higher-end video games or anything, it's a decent enough card. I'm guessing this is why they give you 4GB of RAM since without the 64-bit version of Windows, you won't be able to use more than 2.5-3 gigs. I also don't think it comes with a monitor, does it? That makes it about $100-200 cheaper. You can get a 1 TB HD for about $95 and 4 GB RAM for about $40-$50. That's where your monitor went.
