Just went to CompUSA. I bought some speakers for my iPod. JBL On Tour...they're great for their size. It wasn't on sale though, but I was gonna buy one regardless.
Yeah, I bought a couple of SD cards for $9.99 after rebates. What number in line were you, DonnyMost? Me and my girlfriend were 16 & 17, respectively. It was a very good deal on the memory cards, but the 45 min wait to check-out was a killer. Not sure if it was the wait for the rebates or slow computers, but the lines were even worse than Best Buy!
I went to the Galleria location this morning.. I went to the Baybrook location for the SD cards.. They wouldn't let us buy more than one SD card each though, but we were allowed to buy one of each Compact Flash and SD cards.
The Galleria location is the one I went to this morning. That's where I got all 15 of my 10-packs of DVD-R media.
Wow, ok... well here is my rant about the galleria store. I got there around 8:30. I was the 7th person in line behind a married couple, 3 guys who were together, and 2 other women. Whenever 9 AM rolled around the manager came out and said "OK, the first five can come in." So the married couple, three guys went in.. BUT the two women darted in behind the guys.. So we're all standing there pretty pissed off, wondering what the hold up is.. about 5 minutes later another employee comes out and lets everybody else in. I immediately go up to a sales rep and ask him where the LCD TV is, he tells me they are sold out. I am literally heartbroken. Then I do the math.. the married couple bought one, the three guys only bought one, and each of the two women (Who, by the way, cheated by cutting into the store by tagging along with the group of 5) only could have bought two max between them.. so how come their store allotment of 5 TVs is sold out if only 4 of them could have been purchased? I don't get an answer to my question. Luckily I bumped into a guy I used to go to high school with 5 years ago that works there.. he hooks me up with the mystery 5th TV that for some reason wasn't availible. Sweet. So I've got my tv and now i'm looking to score that Kodak digicam.. I go to the camera center and wait there, patiently, for someone to help me for a good 20 minutes. Finally a girl shows up and I ask for the Kodak.. she tells me it is the last one left and I proceed to the checkout to purchase my tv and camera. Whenever I get to the checkout, however, an old man in front of me is informed that his camera, which for some reason he decided to leave at the front checkout for them to hold while he shopped around some more, was accidently sold to someone else. The person who assisted me with getting my camera then informs me that because the man was "ahead of me in line" (not really, I got there a good 20 minutes before him) that they were going to have to give him my camera and give me a raincheck for the camera at the listed price whenever they got one back in stock. (this severely pissed me off.. they screw up, so I get punished?) I told them that was unacceptable, and they offered to have another Houston area Comp USA hold a Kodak for me until I got there.. I agreed, since I wanted to go back to a Comp USA and get the SD card at 6 PM whenever it went on sale. So now I have to drive ALL the way down to Baybrook in rush hour/galveston weekend traffic (accidents both ways, yay!) to pick up the camera and fight for my SD card.. all because someone didn't want to carry their camera around and a cashier goofed up. In the end I got what I wanted.. but I spent nearly the entire day fighting with crazed bargain hunters and crappy houston drivers for it all.. but hey, like you said, I've got a big ass tv now.
I was working at the Baybrook location from 8:30 to 7. That was a crazed mob of people for the XBOX and the SD cards.
