Extremely true. This is why I carry a wedding ring in my pocket...for emergencies. Also, I have a second wallet where I keep photos of my "children" and my "husband," the giant police officer. I can't help it...I'm a sneaky girl!
It was Futurama. Also related to the topic from the same show and episode another pick up line that was supposed to work was: "I always find the most erotic part of woman is her boobies"
So, amfootball, did you go to A&M and when did you graduate? I tend to stop staring after about 19 seconds as to avoid being thrown against wall's and having the crap kicked out of me.
I didn't go to A&M, but I really, really, really wanted to! I needed to work at the same time and had better job opportunities in Houston, so I went to UH instead. It totally broke my heart.... I'm glad you're doing the countdown...that's the sign of a smart man. Take a 10 minute break after those 19 seconds, and then stare again.
I am not tripping! Not all women are unhappy with the way they look and certainly not every women is specifically concerned about breast size. However, I think it is fair to say that the majority of women think a great deal about how they look and whether they measure up to all the contradicting standards. I don't think it's healthy but recognizing unhealthy attitudes doesn't stop them. Women seem to be more concerned about weight than other issues but here's a few statistics I came across from Eve's Revenge by Lilian Calles Barger: The diet industry is now a $40 billion-a-year business. Popular women's magazines contain ten times more diet-promoting articles than comparable men's magazines. The entertainment industry considers size 2 to be large and Jennifer Lopez to be a "big girl." The average Miss America contestant works out 14 hours per week and some up to 35 hours per week. The average American Woman is 5'4" and weighs 140, yet 50% of women pursue a diet on any given day. More than 60% of high school girls are dissatisfied with their body and more than 80% of women in college are dissatisfied. 42% of girls in first through third grade expressed a desire to be thinner. One study found 15% of women would sacrifice more than five years of her life to obtain the weight they desire. Elective cosmetic procedures have risen 198% since 1992. During the 1990s there was a six fold increase in the number of breast augmentation surgeries.
RIGHT! I think they ignore my epic threads on purpose My thread in the GARM is a "Hot Topic" so I'll settle for that for now...
If you see the guy staring for too long, hold eye contact with him until he runs into a telephone pole. That's something I've always wanted to see.
Sorry to hear that amfootball. I was fortunate enough to have pops pay for most of my college. Not to rub it in, but I had a blast in my 5 years up there. Even came away with a degree.
Sometimes I think the old wise men that came up with all the taboos were actually doing us a favor. Now I have been socialized to fixate on breasts as much as anyone, but really if you think about it rationally ; mammaries are just modified sweat glands intended to produce nourishment for infants. But as soon as you cover them up and tell us we aren't suppose to look at them we develop a fascination that occupies a vast amount of our lives. Imagine how much fun Muslim men must be having. "Mohammed, look at the size of that girls chin. I 'd sure like to get a peek under that veil." Many of the worlds cultures value differing womanly attributes, but I'm not sure how western men came to focus on breasts. It seems that evolution would have dictated something else, like wide hips that would allow for more successfull childbirth. Bigger breasts don't produce more milk do they? But it is what it is here in America and women must adjust to the new evoutionary imperative: Big Breasts= Rich Husband=Successfull Reproduction I am not proposing surgical enhancement. Hard silicone boobs are ridiculous. I think small breasted women should compensate another way. Maybe with well developed jaw muscles.
