Hey guys, does it really matter...this is the Clutch BBS Forum and eventually there would've been a post asking what these girls look like, ie 'were they hot?', 'dude you got to get pictures!', etc.
They could be real. There really are a lot of ignorant people out there and these days 23 year olds are really really young as far as how much they know. Believe me, I have experience with this. Hey FD, out of curiosity, how did you get sdtarted in the building townhomes/apartments biz? In my experience it seems that you guys come from all over (as far as experience/education) with no real common bond other than the job. I could be wrong, though. So I am just curious.
FD I think you turned them down to soon. I can think of a few ways they could've paid for the house, they could even right it off as an um... business expense.
Didn't FD run or does he help run some mutual fund or financial services company? I'm interested in knowing how you went from finance to building homes, FD? What was the interest or did you stumble into it?
Anybody can ask me questions by emailing me at fdkgf@aol.com Otherwise i'm weary of answering questions as others have brought up personal things in the past about me. The homebuilding is more of a hobby I backed into. I've done some small shopping centers over the years. It started b/c my brother was going to buy one and I felt I could build his and a few others for much less. I think the margins will fall with the quantity being built so i'm not really looking to build anymore unless i get some really attractive land deals or have cash up front deals so there is less market risk.
You're always going to have browsers who have no intention of buying the house. But for them to start talking money with you is hilarious. I bet they would have trouble getting a loan to buy a Vespa, much less a half mil home.
Very entertaining thread. I can see how Khan qualified his prospects- nothing wrong with that in business. Like he said, he was waiting for the punchline that one of the girls just came into some money. I'm a big people watcher, and you can't always judge a book by it's cover, although you usually can. Perhaps the post was a little un-pc, but I don't think he meant it that way. And some people aren't hip with the newest way to term those of Eastern Asian decent. I don't think he meant it as a backhanded insult. At any rate, it goes to show that those who throw stones shouldn't live in glass houses, or at least not start threads titled 'Complete Ignorance'. It's kind of like that eternal internet faux pas where you correct a person's spelling only to misspell a word in that same post. Anyway, entertaining thread.
I have a sign on the wall in my office....a take-off on that Bruce Willis movie that came out a couple of years ago..... I see stupid people......
