I strongly disagree. They may share a couple strengths and weaknesses, but that surely shouldn't be the predominant criteria for a comparison. Keep in mind, Durant is a swing man that can play 2 or 3. Yi is a F that plays the 3 but will probably grow into a 4 or maybe 5. That's hardly the right basis for a good comparison. How can you be so sure that Durant is a "SURE 30ppg allstar" while believing Yi "has a LONG WAY to go" for 20ppg?
It's okay to disagree, but there's no need to be condescending. In response to your tirade, you judge the player based on his contributions. People mention blocks because it is quantifiable. The fact is that the team's #1 shot blocker may not the team's be best defender (Duncan/Bowen), but it surely doesn't mean that the team's #1 shot blocker is a bad defender. I know you've watched Yi play a couple of times, but I feel your opinion may be a bit too strong--especially for such a small sample size. I don't know why you have so much hate in you. I hope you won't be blinded by hate and give Yi the opportunity to change your mind as the season progresses.

There's no hate, it's annoying watching people go gaga over a guy and make it seem like a guy whos got some decent skill and overcame so much is so inferior. All the people yelling at me and claiming I never seen Yi play, I wonder how many of them watched CV play when he was in a situation where he could be GUARANTEED minutes.

Offensively, I think CV is better than Yi now. But the problem of CV is his defence. This is another reason Larry K put Yi at starting line.
